Anyone else find themselves disappointed by this. They never return them unless you call them on it.

I don’t know if you realized this but not everybody who owns a commander tag takes “saluting” into account

Ohhh! I thought you meant NPC Commanders, not those with a Commander Tag. Silly me!

lol – I have played with very few commanders that deserve that type of respect, especially in WvW where it matters. Commander tags are just gold sinks and bragging rights currently.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone saluting a commander.

Is this something that’s done in specific situations? Or just in general? In most situations where it’s worth having a commander, like WvW or big events in PvE there’s so much going on I’d be surprised if anyone noticed. Especially the commander who really should have their mind on actually commanding the group, rather than watching random emotes.

Are we talking the style of salute known as “the bird”, or just the good old fashioned two finger variety? They can’t see me salute so I’m not surprised there’s no return.

What do you expect from Dust Bunnies?

In my opinion, whisper a simple “gj commander” worth a hundred salutes.

But yeah, there is a big chance that the commander didn’t even see your salute emote and in chat have the emote disabled.

I bet most have the emotes disabled in chat. There is only so much of

Two of the first things I did when the game came out – turn the profanity filter off and turn emotes off. It makes chat much better.
