Am I just uninformed or is the “Commando” an abadoned class concept? Or just something related to an event or w/e because the choppers are looking too realistic^^ I’m asking because I found 2 wallpapers on the official GW2-hp. Help is very apreciated.

Commander is in the game, you just haven’t figured out how to unlock them yet.

These exist in the game. Its a necromancer that runs around with sammiches instead of minions.

…and then they revealed engineer Rifles, grenades, flamethrowers and stuff.

Engineer is bad enough, fine with the joke, but never wanna see it as an actual addition to the game.

For the love of god make it into the 3rd heavy class. PLEZ

Orr could have turned out very differently.

If we get the Commando in game, I have two questions.
1) will we have a helicopter to ride in?
And the vastly more important question
2) will we be wearing underwear, or going commando?

SAB was also an elaborate April Fool’s joke and look how that turned out.

I loved that, easily the best April Fools joke ever!

Especially when I read in the patch notes that there would be a helicopter in Embark Beach and went there to see all the people standing around looking confused and asking where it was, only to find that there actually was a helicopter!

(If I remember correctly the Commando was a response to the fact that every time a new profession was announced for GW2 people started crying that it was obviously over-powered and would dominate and/or ruin the game.)

On a related note I wish they’d bring back the tradition of releasing fake patch-notes on April Fools. In GW1 they would announce a “balance” update with changes that at first glance looked believable but which would make various builds and skills (usually ones everyone already complained about) literally broken or completely, absurdly, over-powered. They were usually a reference to pop-culture or things in-game.

For example in the same update as the Commando was announced they had changes like:

• Dervishes can now use Avatar of Kormir: “Elite Form. Your are permanently Blinded. Any time one of your allies finishes a quest, you get credit for completing it instead. Whenever a Dervish enchantment ends on you, you steal all enchantments, shouts, and weapon spells from all party members.”
• Elementalists can now use Mind Craft: “For the next 4…15 seconds, your attacks deal Earth damage. Deals +40 bonus damage and knocks down if you have a pickaxe equipped.”

The way people already rage about every update to GW2 I’d love to see the reactions to fake patch notes like that, and then the reaction to realising they fell for it.

Although, there was a helicopter, in beta I think? I wasn’t actually there.

I liked how throughout this whole commando april fools thing they actually let you play as one in GW1 is mini-missions as a Terminator parody.

Yip, you will often find me roaming around Eternal Battlegrounds handing out some veggie pizzas, orrian frites and the odd BACON Sammies

SAB should have stayed as Aprils Fools only and I never wanna see Commando ever again. It belongs in a modern warfare game, not in GW.
