I don’t know why anyone was expecting any actual dialogue about fractals. People have been telling them exactly what is broken / not fun / badly designed about them for over a year now and they haven’t paid attention to any of it so far.

I was expecting the dialogue because Chris Whiteside said it was coming. Previously, Chris was someone who went out of his way to do the right thing. I figured I could rely on him for this. I’m clearly not the only one who has been disappointed here. Regardless, I won’t be making this mistake again.

Also I am happy with the way the conversation has been going lately in the CDI. Even if it isn’t communication on the reset.

Resetting fractal levels and removing glory boosters without compensation proves that some day they can remove other things like karma, pvp ranks and who knows what else, maybe titles? maybe they decide to make them more hard to obtain like in GW1 and they will remove those titles that took couple of hours to get.

By the way, I totally misread Chris’s post. Did he edit it? I thought he was saying he needed more time to think. Really he just said what Izzy said three months ago stands.

Yep and IMHO there’s a pattern appearing of discussing difficult issues but then then avoiding doing anything about them, almost like the discussion is a distraction. It really goes right back to Nov 2012 when fractals were introduced.

If they gonna reset it and all are lvl 1 I will not have no proplem with that as long they give some unique title for unlocking 50befor reset and maybe a lvl 50 fract chest(all get chest based on fract lvl).

Just be fun starting over again if you ask me but title and some rewards for getting lvl50 so some people dont think there time was a wast should do it

Yeah, the first time I read it was specifically sating that he will not be engaging in discussion about it at this time. It was edited so he will not engage at all. Thanks Chris. For nothing.

You might not have a problem. I will. And many other people will as well. I did not get my character to 50 again just to get it reset because someone wants to start again.

Yeah, there’s a lot more interest in saying they’re working with the community than actually doing it. CDIs haven’t actually led to anything and probably never will. Most of them are about topics that Anet could get the information they wanted from reading these very forums already.

I’ve been out of town, so I just now saw this. Man. I really don’t have the words to say how much of a gut-punch that is.

I’ll still defend Josh Foreman and Gaile Gray, but I’m done defending the rest of ANET in any capacity. (I’m not saying I’m going to trash anyone, to be clear, but I make an effort to defend those I feel have worked hard for the community and I just…. no longer feel I can do that.)

This is just sad. To on one hand claim to be interested in engaging players via the CDI and on the other essentially pretend to be deaf regarding some player concerns (and this is not the only one) is, well, I guess the most forum-appropriate term would be “disrespectful.”

Hey, it’s something— an acknowledgement that they shouldn’t do it again. Some other nice points in the summary too, like emphasis that new lore shouldn’t impact gameplay (using unskippable cutscenes as an example of something to avoid).

Read the entire thread and then come back informed.

No one expected compensation this late in the game. We’ve said that about a million times in this thread. We were promised, by Chris, an open conversation about it. We were then shrugged off and lied to.

And the good news is that they’ve promised to try real hard to avoid resetting our fractal levels again.

Coming soon, just around the corner, we’re working on it.

The news is that there’s no way to objectively measure variable fractal runs and sort that into a rankings system. Of course, this isn’t news to the player base.
