Condition Damage Rumor I heard
So you are saying that 5 bleed stacks will do about 3000 damage per second per player stacking it?
Sounds fun. Not OP at all. If you face 5 condition builds you only gonna have 15000 dps on you. Guardians heal that in like a second.
1 player could easily sustain 5 bleeds. This is a pretty dumb rumor.
Yeah, it would kinda make condition duration worthless unless they also made every condition last 1/5 as long and increased the damage another 5 times making it x25 per tick XD

Doesnt that make it… direct damage?

Well you still couldn’t burn a tent down, heh. But I did not hear this rumor, and unless you (the OP) have a dev quote, I don’t see this ever happening without a very drastic change to the way conditions work.

Nope not overpowered at all. It is no worse than direct damage.
If a direct damage build can put out 3000 DPS, then five of them on the same target can put out 15,000 DPS. Seems standard and correct… One on five you lose. Right now conditions are worthless in groups because they do not stack like this.
But I do not believe this rumor… any reference to a dev post?

If true, it would be a huge mistake and disappointment. They simply need to fix it as every other game has done and make all damage, whether direct or over time, by player.
This is a hilarious rumor. I love trolls so much! Condition dmg would beat direct dmg in DPS lollll
I heard a rumor that the devs were going to give me 1000 precursors and not anyone else. I believe this rumor is true too!
That possible solution to condition caps was brought up during a Q&A with Colin:

If the change was to actually happen, a lot of skills would have to be changed, like those that apply a 1s bleed with every attack or those that apply multiple bleeds at once, rather than 1 strong one.

I wish they would make synergy skills, like in GW1.
example: If enemy is bleeding,
certain skills do more damage,
but in exchange those skills do
somewhat less damage overall.

Skills and traits like that like that already exist.
Final thrust (sword 3 on warrior) does more damage when the enemy is below 50% hp.
Ranger shortbow can daze or stun depending on the enemy orientation.
And plenty of traits give +% damage under certain conditions or +% crit chance under conditions.
If weapons skills were going to do that too, they would need to let us pick our 2-5 skills from a pool.

…would that be bad to make that change?
Personally I would say, no.

Oh, sorry, I meant that as a positive (it’s been a long tiring week). I’ve been hoping that the new skills mentioned will let us choose our 2-5 weapon skills from a pool for months now.
As for more skill synergy, I wouldn’t mind more of it. But I’d rather it be introduced a bit slowly, just so they can see how it effects the balance.
OP, you’re being trolled
It says anet looking into an issue and nothing about the gemstore. It’s clearly false.
If ANet is indeed looking for a solution to the condition damage problem, that solution will not include reduction in the stack cap of 25 for certain conditions. Too much of the game (weapon skills, runes/sigils/traits) are based around the idea of stacking bleeds (and other conditions). They would have to redesign major chunks of the game to reduce max stats to 5.
