Popular, no. Accepted, kinda. Good, yes they can be.

Really depends on profession and build. Ranger, Engi, Mesmer, and Guardian I know have solid condi builds, I assume warrior does as well. Necros not as much, and I haven’t seen or messed with others yet.

As far a theoretical stuff condi engi actually has crazy “on paper” damage, problem is getting the rotation perfect (just like the power option).

So basically a good build played right should be accepted now, but it takes a long time for the general populace to acclimate to changes in the game, so I see most still demanding zerk for groups.

With the Condi revamp most of the classes got a solid upgrade to their condition based skills. Unfortunately Anet waffled on a few key areas (see bleeding) that prevents Condi from reaching the kind of functional DPS that Crit builds enjoy. When its all said and done, they’re about the same place they were pre-patch, except now they don’t fight for stack space. Considering the World bosses got double HP nearly across the board, its actually a net loss in exchange for everyone personal DPS getting through.

The only Classes that are really enjoying the changes are Burn based. So Guardians and Ele feel OP, because burning itself is really strong right now.

What about Mesmer?

What about Mesmer?

Not enough burning. Same for Ranger and Necro. The only ones that are getting treated as pseudo meta are the ones that can throw down lots of stacks of burning, so Elementalist, Engineer, and Guardian. I’d personally love to see some of the other conditions pumped up to the same level of effectiveness, but it hasn’t happened yet and for all we know they may end up nerfing burning.

Double Torch trap rangers stack burning like a madman.

I don’t have opinions. I only have facts I can’t adequately prove.

Condi ranger is the second best condi build in PvE and has better sustained DPS than the berserker build, and much of it is burning. Not sure where the idea that it didn’t have good burning access is coming from.

I think just a shampoo and rinse would suffice, but if you want that extra sheen, definitely go with conditioner.

I have tried condi mesmer, condimancer condi ranger and condiwarrior, they all fari pretty well especially build sinister, but they are glas, and ’ll die as easy as zerks though thy havbe their peaks a but later with regard fo full condition outputs.. While ranger is extremely powerfull using bonfire and flametrap it does not have perma burns, however it does stack 15 stacks of burning without whirls and has a double fire field.
mesmer can be relatively weak, though when condi wit interupts it is able to do a lot of confusion, necro will shine in a party with the 2 aforementioned using well of corruption, terror and EPIDEMIC… S/S warrior can stack 33 bleeds , with some burning and buff options (power and condition based) in the end you only need a condition guuardian for the enourmous burning stacks and the easy acces to whirls.

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

I absolutely believe you when you say that, although I have no first hand experience, but they’ve been looked down on for so long that it probably doesn’t matter. Chances are you’ll still be kicked out of a group before you can even say “wait, I’m a torch ranger!”

Ranger is really good in dungeon since september 2014. Ya pug are really slow to evolve to that kind of things, but kicking Ranger just for being a Ranger is something you see less and less. It been several months since the last time I saw a No Ranger LFG.
