Hey, all!

I am confused about the Veteran titles. I have 855 days behind me since character creation, but since I deleted some of my oldest toons a while ago, I have not received the Veteran Title; only Loyal. My single oldest character currently has 583 days since creation.

Does this mean that even though I have played the game for 2+ years, I am ineligible for the 2 year title because I simply deleted my older characters to replace them with newer ones? Why are the titles not based off of overall age, instead of being character-bound in a way?

Why? Because that is the mechanic, how it worked in previous titles, and how it works in Guild Wars 2.

It’s almost punishing you for deleting an unused character to make a new one that you’d rather play on. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just bind it to your overall age?

Veteran Have a character reach 730 days of age. Use /age to check the age of the character. So it is a character bound one, and you have 147 days on that character to go.

It would make more sense to buy another character slot from a business (which is what ArenaNet is) standpoint.

While unfortunate for people who often delete characters the birthday rewards have always been character based and not account based.

Never delete characters, if you had played GW1 properly for 6 years you’d have known that… Seriously though, don’t do it. Buy slots if you want another character, or suffer like the OP.

Yeah, I’ve deleted characters, too. I deleted my first one…after only playing her a month.

It makes some sense to make it account based, but the way I see it, this way I can get the rewards multiple times, and on different days. It’s my “birthday” every few months, which is kinda nice.
