Game Crashed 7 tiumes past 30 min, now servers down?

I just logged in with no problems. Logged straight back out though so I don’t know about crash issues.

it’s attempting to download a patch.. as it’s giving the same error.

Me, can’t log in for the same error

I’m getting the same thing. I run the launcher, it says Downloading 1kb/0kb then says “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”

Edit: Seems to be working now.

If it’s the first error screen (the launcher doesn’t load to the login text boxes), then there’s an issue connecting to their content delivery servers (i.e the ones that handle patching and stuffs). Try waiting for a while, since the problems go away after a while (methinks it’s just the CDN overloaded in your region.)

Do note that even if the CDN might be down, the game servers might not be, so your friends in the same CDN region might still be ingame.

Just woke up and tried logging on also. Says the same thing,disabled both firewalls and still nothing. I would like to sit an play games on Fathers day guys please get it fixed.

I didn’t use GW2 Port startup and it started to work.

Also getting error. Hubby logged on fine but Im getting cannot connect.

Same here. Too bad it happened on a weekend.

I logged on fine about 2 hours ago. After an hour I logged off.

30 min later I tried to log back on and got the error. Walked away for 5 minutes, tried again…logged on just fine.

I just now logged off to test it. Logged on fine again. Seems to be sporadic.

I just had this problem too. Right clicking and picking ‘run as administrator’ worked. It shouldn’t make a difference because I’m on the admin account anyway, but it worked.

Okay, finally connected as I typed this post. Let the launcher sit after getting the message rather than closing and retying. It finally connected and I was able to log in.

For those getting this error: where are you located, and what ISPs do you have?

Also having this issue. I am located in Southern Ontario Canada and I have Bell as an ISP. Not having issue with any websites or other games right now just GW2.

Just wanted to edit this: Soon as I hit post I tried again and it’s working now. I had about 10min of downtime before posting this.

If anyone is techminded, can you run a pathping/tracert log on the address assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com? That is where the launcher usually fails to connect if the error shows up.

I don’t know if it’s the same error but i’m geting a blank launcher every time I boot it up. In S Cali.

I just did the same thing. Couldn’t log in, came to the forums to see what was up, left the GW2 launcher up and trying, read forums and when I checked back it was working.

Try to leave the launcher up and going for a few minutes and see what happens.

I am also having this issue. Tried leaving the launcher up, but it didn’t seem to do anything.

My friend was getting this too, as soon as he ran the game in administrator mode it fixed. Give that a try.

Me and my friend got the same issue. Any word from Anet?

Ah, forgot to put that in. My results are when running as Admin. (I tick that on by default these days. Games are bossy.)

Having the same issue, it works about half the time, just keep restarting the patcher:/
