Thanks for the patch and the fixes but could you have possibly chosen a worse time for this massive update? ;(

Any time they choose to patch is going to be a bad time for someone, since the game is played worldwide. I’m sure the connection errors will be sorted out soon.

Guess I’ll go exercise.
And then go to the buffet and get some Dolyak meat.

Another event another patch and yet again the same darn thing every time… connection error, next will be lag and getting booted once we manage to join.. I wonder if Testing is a foreign concept? Happy Winters Day

Also, WTF is with Anet and pushing out ALL of their patches during NA primetime? And don’t give me that rationalization that if they did it at 4AM it would be Asian primetime because these are NOT Asian servers, they are North American servers. Logically they should schedule maintenance around NA schedules.

Why patch and have a rollout at this time of night is just mind boggling..

Oh and we ALL know how the events will happen.. Slideshow, boots to desktop, failed events and a make up email to the wrong people 6 weeks down the road..

With everyone waiting for the Wintersday event to start, I would rather they did it now than at 4AM so that I have a hope of actually getting to do some of it tonight.

Downloading at the speed of backwards – I think I am uploading files to them.

I have this problem too. However, i’m not going to get upset because honestly, they WILL fix it eventually, especially with all the complaining. So personally, i’m just going to leave my launcher running and see if it eventually connects while I browse the forums.

P.S. So it started when I went to teleport to a waypoint in Lion’s Arch. I got disconnected at the 2 minute, 15 second mark of the reset countdown, and up came my launcher. So, i’m downloading the patch, but then it suddenly stops. I restart my computer first, and when I start up the launcher again, it gives the connection error message. Just wanted to say that incase Anet sees this and wants to know more. xD

They could have pushed out the new build last night and then turned the new content on tonight, you know.. like every other MMO does it.

Glad it’s not just me. Game closed and started getting those errors right after I tried to enter PvP from HoM, and I thought that it broke me (new player).

Everyone in World vs World reset are downloading the patch at the same time, reason why servers have indeed exploded.

Yup sure was bad timing was in the latter part of killing Claw of Jormag and now the 1Kb 1Kb flashing retrying to connect error lol nice Oh well laugh it off I say what can you do when they fail.

just let it sit on “Retrying” for a while you eventually get through and the download starts. just worked for me

Just like the rest of the game, the downloading is RNG too.. some people are getting lucky and getting the download while others are staring at a connection error screen. Happy holidays and good luck!

GW2 is the anti-WOW. No holy trinity, not grindy, and updates will not under any circumstances be late morning/early afternoon on Tuesdays. This is next level and updates are during US prime time.

mines started off with connection erros is let it sit for 10 mins and now its downloading at 1MB a second. 20% done.

No weekend prime-time patches plz.

ROFL nice that put a smile on my face haaa . They will fix it nothing you can do but joke about it now frustrating yes but mhe we will survive

I think the problem is that everybody is trying to download the patch at the same time, so therefore it overloads the servers and the servers that you download the patch from have to kick people off in order to not crash. This means that the people waiting are probably in a ‘queue’ to start downloading, per se. But that’s just my theory, i’m not an expert. xD

I can still see him with his tiny little legs going back and forth really fast while I was off killing centaurs. At least, that’s how I’ll try to remember him.
