Conspiriciy Theory: Black Lion Trading Co. are theives

As a veteran of GW1, I like many other people placed a lot of minipets, weapons and armor skins into the HoM. I had hoped that when GW2 was released, that I’d be able to just ‘pick up’ some of the times like minis to use straight away. However, this obviously wasn’t the case and I do understand that there were many limitations with using this for GW2.

Yet, I still had a question when I first entered the HoM in GW2. What did happen to all of my minis, statues, gear that I had spent time and effort into obtaining? Someone obviously had raided the HoM and collected everything, but who? With the new update that Black Lion are now giving way Tormented Weapons for claim tickets, the answer is simple.

The original creators of Black Lion had raided the HoM sometime between GW1 & GW2 obtaining a monopoly on all of the gear that we had obtained ourselves. How else would they have had so many minipets to sell? Admittedly they have had to put some effort into making their own items to sell, unless they raided other parts of Tyria as well. How else would they have obtained so many Zodiac weapons? We have lost contact with Cantha, but maybe Black Lion have a similar network there obtaining these rare items for smuggling back to Tyria.

Black Lion are now re-selling many items that they raided from HoM of many ancestors back into the market to their kin, without them even realising. Thus Black Lion are gaining a huge profit and becoming a more rich, powerful and influential company.

All I can say is, look after your valuables. Who knows, they might soon be stealing from you and trying to re-sell you your own gear.

^QFT. What I earned in GW1 through skill, I now pay for with gems or gold through doing whatever is most efficient to earn me that. The base game has that, but no full sets of armor or new weapons are earn-able through skill. It’s really too bad that zero new dungeons have been added that have 3 paths and a storyline with a dungeon vendor that has full sets and weapons exclusive to that dungeon as well. That is why the Fractal weapons are so awesome to me. If I have a Fractal weapon the only way I can have a Fractal weapon is if I completed the Fractal content and was fortunate enough to get one as a drop. That way of doling out rewards is so much more fulfilling as a player than just an efficient farm and buying said goods.

This is a conspiracy?

The Black Lion Trading Co. is EXTREMELY SHADY.

How do they have access to much better crafting and salvaging tools that nobody, even using the most advanced materials in the mystic forge, are able to craft/obtain?

How do they make such proofed chests that NOTHING can open them except for their own monopolised keys?

Where do they get their gems? And what about all the exclusive stuff you can only obtain through gems?
