Content Update for Guild Wars 2 [SUGGESTIONS]
Justice System
When you commit murder of another player, during a Trade Route, or in open world you leave behind evidence that only certain classes can hide, such as thief. If a player finds this evidence they are gifted the ability to report it to the player court system and bring the murderous player to trial. If the thief hides the evidence then there is no way to be found, or accused of such actions.
If the player refuses to go to court, then he has to pay a fine, if they refuse to pay the fine they are wanted for what ever action they did, and other players have the ability to report the player if they see him once he is reported he will spawn in a jail, where he has the ability to break out (Up to the GW2 team on how they want that to work), If the player breaks out of jail then his name will appear Red and a bounty will placed on the murderous player for any one to kill and earn the reward. After the bounty is complete and the player is killed, the murderous player is under “probation” where he is limited to the things he can do (such as WvW, grouping, Farming,) depending on what the crime is he committed, and for how ever long it will last is also based on the crime he did.
Auctions
Self explanatory. Open world player auctions are in certain cities, and players have the ability to sell their items to the highest bidder. Players in town(s) are expected to act civilized and not kill each other, but it is certainly able to kill anyone if they want to if their PvP toggle is on.
Boats
Must be purchased through merchants that are near the shores and ocean(s). You have the ability to sail through the oceans in your boats,, or use it to store your loot. But careful, if you go out sailing by your self and an enemy player is nearby he has the ability to get on your boat (whether by his own boat, or flying mount) and steal all your loot., of course if evidence is found from the enemy player you may report him right away to the justice system. Your boat is safe and loot free when you are docked at a docking station (Although players can still kill YOU (or friends) but they CAN’T steal your loot. If a player steal your boat it will respawn at the docking station within 10 minutes, unless the player has destroyed your boat. If your boat is destroyed you MUST buy a new one.
Another cool idea would be the ability to build your own boat. Of course it will take a lot of resources depending on the size of the boat you want.
Fishing and deap sea diving
If you buy your self a fishing rod from a merchant, then you can set sail or stay at shore and fish for sea creatures! (Such as fish/sharks…etc) and you can sell them to merchants for money depending on the size/rarity of the fish.
Deep sea diving, You can go deep in the sea and place traps to capture crabs, or sea creatures. And like the Fish, you can sell them to merchants for money depending on the size/rarity. Or you can find abandoned ships, and get special treasure, bu be careful, because there will be mobs around it.
Guild Wars
Yes ACTUAL guild wars! Not instanced but fully open world. Build your Guild home with your guildies, set up traps or walls to defend your claimed land, attack other guild homes, or become allies with them. PvP is automatically enabled when in your guild territory or another guild’s territory but friendly fire is disabled against guild mates so AoE attacks can work properly and teamwork could work better with out killing your guild mates!
So tell me what you think! These are just the very FEW Ideas I have for the game. I would like ANY form of feedback.
So you basically want to make Guild Wars 2 a completely different game?
Might I suggest that GW2 might not be the game you are looking for?
Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
This sounds like PWE’s “Forsaken World.”
OP, go play that game and get your “fix” since it has basically EVERYTHING you just suggested.
I just don’t think it has the housing you want.
Lady Alexis Hawk – Main – Necromancer
Ravion Hawk – Warrior
You are telling me you actually put some effort to make this list of things that suggests you want a typical MMO for korean market?
Fascinating.
Fishing may nice but I don’t like some hobo jump on my boat and eat my fish.
The rest I must admit I’m not so interested most sounds like a way to hate eachother
…but maybe that’s ur plan all along

You’ve been playing ArcheAge? Because everything you suggested is in AA.
Gandara EU
[DYE]
The fishing and auction ideas seem like they could work, but putting it extremely nicely I do not think the rest of your suggestions would work. Mainly due to the amount of coding required and the fact it will not fit into the games structure.
Keep up the ideas though, I can tell you have been thinking a lot into this.
Trading routes
- Are you intended this to replace current forms of trading (e.g. trading post)? If no, then why would anyone bother when we have the TP?
Open world PvP
- A big no-no for me sadly. I don’t know of many people that would care for being able to attack players in open world – you have WvW for that.
Mounts
- No need in GW2. We have WPs and to some extent, swiftness. Although riding things would be fun, I feel it has no place in GW2.
Player housing
- Would be cool, and certainly something I would enjoy.
Fishing + deep sea
- Nice, could be a nice past time. But quite far down on a list of things we need in this game.
Guild Wars
- What you described sounds like organised WvW zerging to me.
@Andrax.4576 I used some elements from Archeage and changed them around and made it in a different way. Not everything i suggested is in Archeage.
@sazberryftw.3809 Yes this is intended to replace the old trading system.
The Guild Wars takes the elements of WvW but puts it into the open world for players’ in actual guilds to have wars against each other. The Defense system, and Housing system are not in WvW. On top of that there is no form of Guild Vs Guild or making allies which plays a huge factor into this.
About the Mounts. Yes not needed, but it would be really awesome to have them in. You wouldn’t want your character to be flying on a Pheonix, or exploring the grounds in your Wagon that’s pulled by Horses?
@sazberryftw.3809 Yes this is intended to replace the old trading system.
This would not work. Do you realise how important the TP is? I don’t want to try and sell a 100g exotic and have it stolen by a player attacking me.
I always believe that games can be made better. It never ever hurts to offer suggestions. Adding new content keeps the game interesting and diverse. I really like your ideas. Don’t let the naysayers get you down.
I love GW2. It is a beautiful game. I get lost in the beauty and the music. I would rather play this game then be told to leave and go play another game just because they offer different things. I see nothing wrong with anyone suggesting that things be added to this game that are similar. It wouldn’t have to be “exactly” the same.
I for one, would absolutely LOVE to see rides in GW2. Whether it is gliding over the tops of trees on Phoenix, or galloping through Queensdale on a beautiful steed. I personally think it would be a really awesome addition to the game. No one is saying every single person has to have to ride, if you like running every where by all means continue to run, but for those that would enjoy them I think it would be pretty cool.
Great suggestions.
Many of your suggestions would not work in this game. Others are routinely vetoed on the forums.
Fishing might be fun, but would be low on the priority list of needed/desired improvements.
My personal thoughts? NO to Open World PvP of any kind.
The entire purpose of the open world in Guild Wars 2 is to promote cooperation between players, not open combat. So no, I do not support that in the slightest.
Reading your other suggestions, I concur with others here. Sounds like you want to play a different game than GW2.
That’s basically Archeage, GW2 is quite different so none of those would actually work in this game… well maybe fishing would actually work, but the rest is possible only in a non instanced game.
Considering that Archeage gives everything you want and a lot more, and it’s a f2p game… you could just play that and GW2, I think I will.
Nice list of suggestions OP, but I agree with none of them… Even fishing… I don’t like fishing in games… Atleast not the Lotro/WoW fishing mechanic …. SooooooOooooOOOOooo boring…
Anyway I was going to suggest that maby you should ask on the forums of Archage to implement the mechanics from GW2 that you like?
Guild Leader of Alpha Sgc [ASGC]
I saw “mounts” and stopped reading.
No thanks.
So you basically want to make Guild Wars 2 a completely different game?
Might I suggest that GW2 might not be the game you are looking for?
This is absolutely the main issue with 90% of these “SUGGESTION” threads in this forum…. This game does not need to be “like” some other game.
A few of these suggestions are interesting (the Trade route protection one is not a bad idea if linked to some timed window like the LS2 Sandstorms), but the rest are just old hat suggestions that simply are not reasonable (in terms of need, development resources or playerbase desire).
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
I’m pretty new to the MMORPG world, so I am not quite sure what would fit in a game like GW2 or not. Thanks for the feedback everyone, whether it’s good or not I wasn’t expecting every one to agree with these.
Been playing some Archeage, hmm?
