Was there anything announced during the presentation that even hinted that these were on the way?

No

I am pretty annoyed with fact that they keep ignoring this. They promised back in 2013 that ALL professions will go up to 500 and there is too much waiting. I would be fine if someone said “no, we won’t add the last two professions” but their ignoration is just annoying.

They did say there would be Masteries for crafting.

Well to be fair they said there is a lot of more information coming up about HoT that will be discussed between now and when the expansion drops. My take on the presentation is that they only hit on the major new changes. Who knows what will be expanded on (pun intended) between now and when the X-pac goes live. Heck, we don’t even know when it is going live.

I will surely not buy HoT expansion before we get any statement regarding these professions that were PROMISED long time ago. Sure, it’s not important, but I for once would like to see things like this not being ignored.

I suspect there will be a feature patch before the expansion launch. I’m anticipating they add those then.

That’s not really information that would go into an expansion release, it’s a small addition. So we’ll probably see a blog-type post about it if it’s going to be in it.
