This graphics plugin called SweetFX actually works with GW2! All you have to do is disable the in game FXAA/ Anti Aliasing and play in fullscreen for them to work.

Here is the download: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/sweetfx_shader_suite_download.html scroll to the bottom of the page, right above the comments, there is a link under “download location”

The installation is simple too, just put it into the game directory, aka C:/Games/GW2

Now, here is an example of what it can do:

Wow….that’s really bright. Like, possibly TOO bright.

The screenie was taken at nighttime in-game so far as I can tell, so for colors to be popping out that vividly would really throw off my sense of time in the game, and might even make the game too bright for me to play.

If that sort of thing appeals to you, I suppose there’s no harm in using it, though.

Remember when our developers talked about “strengthening the core game”?
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.

You don’t have to have it that saturated, that’s just the way I did it. I’m making one now that looks like this.

and in response to Avatar, it doesn’t slow it down from what I can tell.

Or you could properly calibrate your screen and get the same effect.

I’m more interested in tweaks which can improve performance.

SweetFX by default uses SMAA, so it will lower your performance by a small amount. Back when I played around with it I found that it hurt my performance much less than the ingame FXAA option however. You can always tweak the settings in the ini file to enable or disable the SMAA, as well as various other things SweetFX has, like the vibrance, HDR, saturation, etc. It does make a pretty noticeable difference in the beauty of the game, though I’m also not a fan of that much saturation from the linked image.

Also as far as I know it isn’t against the TOS to use SMAA/FXAA injectors like these. They only slightly change the look of the game, hopefully for the better. They do not give an advantage to the player in any way whatsoever.

This wont get you banned due to this “Addon/Plug-in” not modifing files or giving an advantage in gameplay compared to other players without it.
Anet’s stance with this 1 in particular though has come across as “its a 3rd party addon, but you gain no benifits by using it”

Settings for the addon itself are fully customizable – from fog thickness, sharpness, and color saturation. You can even play the game in full black and white. It is a neat addon to play with & tweak as u play, definatly worth sitting down in lions arch & tweaking as u check the city out with a different look.

The top image is with the addon, & the other is without. The 3rd is just my engineer standing out in some human field. I do not use this addon to its full potential, but i wanted a sharper look & to adjust how far I could see.

There is actually a thread on this already (just a heads up).

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/better-colour-overall-graphic-FXAA/first

Check out some of those screenshots from different players. It really shows off what all it can do. And some of the posts in there even have their personal settings for you to try out if you don’t want to mess with it yourself.

hey folks,

Recently I’ve come across an update for a graphics mod called “Helix Mod”; it’s a special graphics Mod like SweetFX which most of the people here on the forum already have heard of.

Now what’s interesting is this: By having both these Mods on at the same, the graphics in the game becomes sort of like TF2 graphics (which I personally really like). See the screens below.

Here’s the link to SweetFX (for those that doesn’t have it yet):
http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/sweetfx_shader_suite_download.html

Here’s the link to the LATEST Helix Mod (with the fixes):
http://helixmod.blogspot.ca/2012/12/guild-wars-2.html

And here’s a picture of what the in-game graphics looks like with the following settings ‘Enabled’ in SweetFX:

LUMASHARPEN
HDR
TONEMAP
VIBRANCE
TECHNICOLOR

NOTE: my graphics card sucks so I’m only running it with DirectX 9, so some of the ‘closer’ textures are blurry. You can use SweetFX to fiddle with the settings & it can remove the blurs!

Fluffy is Helix just for 3d? Or are you saying combining Sweet and Helix 2d output is even better yet vs just using Sweet? Thanks

With Sweet adjusted the way “you like it”, this to me is the best looking mmo out there.

Well personally, I think it really is (you notice it more when you are in huge fights). I’ll upload a video soon so y’all can see it first hand.
