Here I’m listing the 67 mastery points of Tyria.
This is the list from player’s perspective and things they supposed to do to complete them. Correct me if I’m wrong:
List in detail is here Mastery Points

Master of Heroics

  • 8 points – Complete all Core Tyria personal story steps.

Human Story line (3): Crime and Punishment, Family Reunion, Storming the Castle
Order IV (1): Defending History Informing the Future or To Know the Unknown or Some Must Fight That All May be Free,

Order VI (2): The Cost of Victory, Savior of Tyria

  • 1 point – Map completion of 100% on all Tyria maps.

Again, one can only acquire 8 Mastery Points from the Personal Story; one per Level Arc. The Wiki is accurate.

This information, without biased commentary, is, and has been, available in the Wiki, and other sites, such as Dulfy, for some time.

Could you please tell me which one of these Mastery points I cannot get?

Human Story line:
Crime and Punishment Achievements: 1 Mastery Points
Family Reunion Achievements: 1 Mastery Points
Storming the Castle Achievements: 1 Mastery Points

Order IV:

Savior of Tyria Achievements: 1 Mastery Points

In a sense, you only truly get one mastery per Chapter of the Personal Story. There are a total of 8 chapters in the personal story so only 8 Mastery points. I still find it odd that there are 67 total obtainable points, but only 49 needed to max the current mastery tracks.

Thank you for pointing that out. I didn’t notice each of those belongs to a different order. however I was expecting someone else point it out.

Some Must Fight That All May Be Free – L40
To Know the Unknown – L40
Defending History Informing the Future – L40

One can only get 1 Mastery Point, per account, for completing any of the Steps in these three Personal Story Chapters. They are all in the L40 Story Arc.

I believe that would be to allow players to complete masteries without having to do all the things, so that they can choose what they prefer. I skipped the high-gold-cost ones, for example, because I have other things to waste spend my virtual money on.

I completed the core tyria mastery lines, the only mastery points I actually hated grinding for were the lws2 story (I found that dull to play through). I think it’s mostly that I had some of the content completed before MP’s came out in HoT (Like world Exploration) and that gave me a boost.

Though that being said they aren’t overly necessary to complete fully (though if you like fractals I’d say do it).

There is a minor, and mostly unnecessary, reward for completing them: you will accumulate XP which turns into free spirit shards once core mastery and/or hot mastery is complete.

Given the value of spirit shards, that is at most 40s per shard earned this way, and it’s inconveniently clicky because it involves the mystic forge.

So, yeah, there is some reason to complete them fully even if you don’t care of fractals, but it’s not compelling enough to justify too much effort.
