Since Anet tends to have player votes on important topics, such as removing a WvW Borderland or portable cannons, maybe we could have a mount vote? Because, you know, it’s very important for the up coming expansion.

One such vote should allow the entire player base to decide if Anet should invest Dev time into a special mount, the Corgi. The concept was already developed, so Anet’s already half way there.

What say you Anet? Can we please give the Corgi a chance? I would actually buy Gems to purchase it from the Gem Store.

Here’s a couple of pics to help your imagination. And remember, gemstore Lion Manes (for only 800 gems) will fit corgis also. Just imagine yourself on a stubbylegged, tailless, tongue lolling lion mount and everything becomes much clearer.

Of course, as the last picture shows. Small ledges may pose a problem with the corgi mount. Consider it a feature, not a bug.

Part of the appeal of a Corgi is that they’re small. Running into one five times larger than you are would not be as cute.

Now husky mount would get my vote, but we’re already getting a sand jackal for canine mount.

Adorable as corg-asura might be, I’ll point out that they haven’t done half the work as OP says. They have a cute little black and white sketch from a brainstorm doodle session. That’s a -huge- way away from developing models, mount skills, running/attacking/idle animations, dye channels … or did you not yet see the hilarious blooper reel of early versions of the mounts we have?

Why are Corgi so popular suddenly anyways. Shiba Inu are the MLG meme dog of the internet. I think people get those two dogs confused.

How about a Labrador Retriever mount instead and as an additional bonus the gem store can sell Lion Manes to turn it into a Lion Mount, a two for one Mount that will please everyone.

I think the term is “gloriously overpowered”.

That aside The main question with this “corgi” mount is that, like the other mounts, it needs to have a purpose to fulfill – which generally means some kind of movement it can do that does things the others can’t.

That’s a little tough to come up with, so perhaps the most reasonable option might be a gem shop skin for the sand jackal that looks like a corgi. The legs are not really the same length though, so I’m not entirely sure the result would be satisfying, but if there’s enough demand it might be worth a shot.

I really don’t get what’s happening with the incoming release.

All announced mounts fit well into expansion’s setting and doesn’t look like a joke.
We already have enough cheap looking visual mess with all kinds of winged backpacks, bunny ears and such.
From the start GuildWars 1/2 was seriously and uniquely looking game with cohesive art style, but with time GW2 was diluted with cheesy accessories (which purpose is the only one – to appeal to kids/manga lovers etc and earn more money).
Corgi is another asset in this spirit. It has no place in game’s world.

Once they start adding a Lama mount wearing a pink tutu with a bday hat on shooting rainbows out of his ass when jumping..is the time i uninstall.

NO thanks. Less ‘pink tutu’ stuff and a bit more realistic looking stuff please.

There could be as charrs and asura do exist.

It is a fantasy world but there’s no need to put a giant yellow elephant with a mustache, if you know what i mean.

Adding something which is strange is ok, but there’s no need for it to become ridiculous.

As much as I like corgis I can’t see it as a mount on this game even for my asura thief.

However I will support a corgi as a miniature and I would love to see one very soon:3

Right, I’m not very keen on bunny’ish look of that mount, it is over the top a bit.
On the other hand it looks like a jerboa at least, and jerboa is a desert dweller.

And where the corgi fits in? What would be his special ability? Hiding footsteps by wiggling his tail? Bark-jump someone?

No one has ever stated in any official manner that Guild Wars 2 is intended to be immersive or lifelike in any way. This is a completely fictional fantasy land we’re talking about, after all, with tiny rodent-like races and dragons and magic and so forth. I can never understand why people keep mistaking GW2 for an immersive simulator game.

Personally, I would pay alot of money for a Corgi mount. Anet, PLEASE do it!

No. I’m only barely OK with the current mounts being required and really don’t like the idea of most of them not even being lore friendly creatures (especially that bunny thing).

Maybe because its an mmoRPG ?
Dragons, rodent race and magic don’t break immersion in a fantasy RPG, but female characters with bunny ears, useless wings, clothes that don’t protect their breasts, mounting giant corgis to fight dragons and rodent race do. Why someone would wear bunny ears to fight Balthazar ? Why would someone breed giant corgis to fight Palawa Joko ? It is not because GW2 is a fantasy world that it don’t has to respect common sense.
Even WoW with his stupid gnome & goblin stuffs and these polluting flying mounts is more immersive. Compare GW2 and ESO, which is the more immersive ? I wait the day a MMORPG comes with the neat gameplay and dynamic events of GW2 and the immersive world of ESO.

While I wiuld personally be disgusted with the idea of a corgi mount, since I can in no way take it seriously, I would approve of corgi mounts IF anet promises it would come at the cost of SAB mounts
