Guild Wars 2

…but it seems to me that tomorrow morning’s maintenance is the first time GW2 has actually had scheduled maintenance. Usually we simply get a patch when they’re ready to deploy it. But I may have missed something.

And no, I’m not complaining by any means (I’ll be at work anyway). The fact that this game does not seem to have a lot of maintenance downtime is one selling point I use when recommending it to friends, in fact. I’m just genuinely curious.

I know the Black Lion interface goes down for maintenence every so often, but I can’t remember when/if the actual servers have. I’m sure it’s happened but I don’t remember it.

I think during the first or second month we had some downtime as well for maintenance. Can’t remember exactly when though.

But it’s expected now. Give it a year or two and you’ll more than likely never see maintenance again, if it is anything like GW1. GW1 I believe also had some downtime during the start and then of course maintenance when they switched servers. Otherwise, that was it.

It is rather great though I agree. It astounds me that other games still have weekly downtime for maintenance when GW2 and GW1 have none.

GW had something like 35 hours downtime in all it’s time running. 12 of them hours was when it was rehousing the servers.

They did have a maintenance on the 7th, I think.

This is the first time since the game launched 5 1/2 months ago.
It is a big selling point

And apparently the maintenance is already over and the game up and running…another selling point!

I never really thought about it. Meh there are so many other great things that make Guild Wars 2 stand out as the number one MMO (in my opinion) that I never even noticed the smaller bonuses.
