What I’m trying to say is if all those materials for legendaries are account bound and you’ve spent so much time on it to finally obtained it. Should it (or could it) be account bound?
I know few people would have the time to make the same legendary for different chars.

I wish they’d be, less of a hassle, after seeing the requirements. But then the so called hardcore players wouldn’t have their hours of farming fun, I suppose.

Whether something is either wrong or right, someone will always complain about it.

The farmers would scream bloody murder (and accuse everyone of trying to make elite gear less elite), because it would mean they wouldn’t be able to sell the same stuff to the same people more than once.

Actions, not words.

I don’t see why a change to account bound legendaries would stop revenue stream for the farmers, as far as I know Gift of Exploration is account bound, and one is needed for each legendary. So, how many legendaries you can have is directly linked to how many characters you get 100% map completion on.

I also don’t see how it would detract from its legendary status either, since it wouldn’t make it any easier to acquire. They require level 80 to wield, so you won’t see people running around a starting area with them.

Making legendaries account bound seems to me a very logical thing to do, it would allow players to create as many legendaries as they feel they want and not have to worry about which character it is linked to and just enjoy the epic piece of art that was created for you.

I too think Legendary weapons should be Account Bound. You are “limited” to 2 Legendary weapons per character reaching 100% Map Exploration, so with 8 professions, you can at most make 16, unless you wish to make “duplicate characters”. I don’t think that would make them any less legendary in status—in fact, I think it’d make them more legendary—since you wouldn’t technically just be able to purchase the weapon completed on the Trading Post. Personally, I find that it lowers the legendary status, knowing that someone could just buy it, if someone were to sell them.

Also considering that multiple classes use multiple weapons of the same type; Warrior/Mesmer/Guardian often run with Greatswords in example, or Elementalist/Necromancer/Mesmer/Guardian can often be seen with Staff, and so on forth, it gets a wee bit annoying to think about needing to waste your limited resource, Gift of Exploration, on duplicate legendaries.

I at least don’t get why these were not made Account Bound in the first place. They require so much effort to make, that asking us to make duplicate ones over multiple classes is a slight bit of a slap in the face. And a change like this needs to happen before someone actually goes about making duplicate Legendary weapons, or it’ll be more of a headache to implement systems to let players exchange one (or more) duplicate for another.

Account bound legendaries are great for people who like to play lots of alts and who don’t really have a main.

Has anyone tried transferring their legendary by transmuting the loot onto a non soulbound item and putting it in your account bank?

It works with other items so it should work with legendaries.

The downside is you lose the stats, but if you paid 600G for a legendary then losing 1G to get a new exotic to transmute it onto probably isn’t a huge issue…

The other downside is you lose the pretty purple name
