Could we have open world instanced maps?
No.
If thats what you desire, please feel free to play gw1 which has exactly what you describe.
In general, the whole idea of instanced world goes against the principles of an MMO.
Open World and Instanced are almost mutually exclusive. In order to be open world (which GW2 is open World) everyone must have access to the same maps at the same time. In an instanced world (as in GW1) only the player is in the world, and whatever group they are in.
Having instanced maps limit the experience of an MMO. It would also make DEs useless, as they are specifically designed to let random people get together for an event rather then only one group.
Having said that, I could see where there could maybe someday be an instanced version of the existing world for a “vanquish” type play style a la GW1 Hard Mode. I really don’t see it happening for a long time, though. There’s simply too much to do right now.
I think what you are asking for is a dungeon that is in an open area and not just an area with one path to take to get to the final goal.

This is what I meant I think it would be a good addition to the game and please many players especially previous gw1 players, clearing a map is satisfying for many people also.

I don’t care if the game is an mmo or hybrid mmo or whatever it is the game play that matters. Just adding these elements to the game does not make it gw1 there are many other changes from gw1 to gw2 besides gw1 is pretty much dead.
You want an instanced open world area? In other words, you want a private area to play in, one which is void of other players and has a finite amount of enemies.
Guild Wars 1 is still available, and is fairly cheap to purchase.
Instead of suggesting to split up the open world population:
- Less on-rails dungeons and more open layouts.
- Dungeons that cater to exploring (hidden tunnels, rooms ect).
- Vanquish mode for dungeons.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.

Those all sound like good ideas, especially in tandem.
Bring back Light of Deldrimor, GW2-style!
So you want guild wars 2 to turn into a single player game with an interactive lobby? (aka gw1)

No all I am suggesting is a couple of instanced high end large open map areas where the foes don’t respawn, does that suddenly make the game gw1?
Basically what you want is a raid xD.
