I have around 30 T stones and obviously there is really no point to them. Why am I, being level 80, being given transmutation STONES from certain chests like map completion? I can’t use those at literally any point. I need transmutation CRYSTALS.

I need to do something with them, so let me mystic forge them into transmutation crystals. Even if the ratio is 4 to 1, I could at least do something with these darn things.

This will never happen as it is so easy to get them. If people really wanted free Crystals all they would need to do is make a new char, complete each city map for 3 per map, delete and reroll a new char to repeat. Anet would lose ALL monies from these items in the gemstore.

I have 300+ of the stones sitting in my bank just from getting world completes on all 8 of my chars. I know for a fact that if people wanted a lot of these fast they could do so just by completing the city maps as they are real fast. Of course you could argue Anet could remove them from the city maps but I doubt they would go that far.

I thought this was a good idea, I’d hope Anet would allow us to upgrade these things, since stones are almost completely useless after getting your first character to 80. Although Anet might lose sales if they implemented it, I feel it’d keep more players around since it wouldn’t feel like you were behind a paywall to customize your armors using other armors you already had.

I think it’d work if it required like 3-10 stones among other things to upgrade to crystals.

I had thought of something similar but with a higher cost. Since Transmutation Stones are so abundant I had figured something like 20stones for 2crystals. Drop them in the Mystic Forge with some kind of cheap materials and out come Transmutation Crystals. Still account bound of course.

only way I can see it working is by transmuting over 250 stones with mystic forge stones and probably 2 other ingredients (crystalline dust and something that costs skill points) to get you 5 crystals. It has to be the same cost.

How many gems does it take per trans crystal?
How many gems does it take per trans stone?
Figure in hours of game-time to accumulate said stones, etc.
It has to be more expensive than just using gems to get crystals, otherwise people would just buy stones from now on and convert them.
