I kind of agree with you that it needs an update or something done about it but just remember it’s only 1 achievement and I think only 10 Achievement points. It’s not really needed to get the 2 items from southcove or any of the other achievements.

Only thing you really miss out on getting for not doing this achievement is the title and really, that’s not so great…..

I don’t think you got it randomly, you would have simply been holding the crab while everyone else was knocked down. :P

it was definitely easier to get before people learnt the game :p Now you just have to find the right people, my server seems to have more nice people than other servers, I had no problem finding a group that wanted to help eachother get the achieves.

I got the title, but later found a group willing to cooperate so everyone could get it, with some of my other guildies. It was good fun.

Organizing a group of strangers to work together was quite entertaining.

A hard achievement? what?

some ppl ask for hard things, others ask for easy things…..

I gave up, i don’t need it and my ping time wouldn’t let me have it even if i wanted it..

A good way to get it is to use your Rush *3 trough a giant Karka, people usualy swarm you like a bunch of flies when you are holding the Crab and if you go straigth trough the Karka it will eventualy splater every players following you.

It’s not required to get 25/25 achievements, just like the JP isn’t required to get 10 samples. If you can’t do it, well... then you can’t do it.
And honestly, it is actually quite easy to achieve. Just like Ambrecombe already said: grab the crab and #3 through the giant karkas. Also don’t always run around at the outer side of the arena but dodge and #3 through the middle. I automagically got it in my second round and since then it happened countless times without even trying. Usually when I see people asking for help to complete it, they don’t even try to play the actual game at all and are ranked last.

PS: if you’re a "clicker" you’ll have a hard time, using hotkeys pretty much is a requirement for crab toss (like any PvP activity).

So what’s the point of an achievement if you aren’t willing to take the time to work for it?

Like, I can understand complaining about WvW achievements which are pretty much impossible.

But seriously dude? It’s not that hard if you actually PLAY the game.

Crabtacular is NOT an achievement. You as a player did not achieve anything apart from being lucky if you get it. It all deprnds on if the other players screw up and or if the karka roll the correct way. You can PLAY 24/7 and never get it because the other players are smart enough to not get crushed. It is badly designed and needs to be changed. I got it, but can’t say I felt it being an achievement after getting it.

I got this achievement and didn’t even know it was an achievement until last night when my guidie was complaining of not being able to get it.
it’s all luck. or cooperation. you really can’t lure people into getting steamrolled.

I got it fairly easily.

Easier with more people scrummaging for the crab.

Fishing pole is also nice. I also like taking the fishing pole out of others peoples hands. Can’t figure out how to steal the conch without it being knocked out of their hands already.

My bad no title for this achievement, so there you go no REAL reason to really be concerned over getting this 1 complete.

BTW you forgot the Stalwart title – so there are 3. :P

From my interpretation, it sounded like I had to end the round holding the crab and also making the other players get knocked down in the last seconds. I really thought it would be impossible, but I got this one without even knowing it. Once you play a few rounds, you realize the best way to stay alive is to dash through or towards the karka.

I think this deserves to be an achievement. It’s challenging and if you are aiming for all the crab toss achievements, you will get better at crab toss. Finding samples gets you 12 and they are just sitting out in the open with the exception of the islet one.

I’m achievement addict, and I can’t get this stupid achi… The idea that it will be little gap in Secrets of Southsun is killing me :x I farm crab toss as much as I can, since I work full time job it’s not alot of farming. Still tried waking up at night during weekends and trying get this nonsense, found alot matches with only 2 or 3 peoplel, and everytime one of them is ignoring chat and just running for crab even if he/she is far away from being champion score wise, or hell one of them intentionally staying away from crab and or karka, and dodges it so that you could ragequit more easily…
Thanks ANet for making us (achievement addicts) go crazy..
