The question is why do we have to wait hours to make our next bolt, i never understood why we must wait, not only do we have to “grind” to get the materials then we must wait for example "Spool of Silk Waving Thread, I must wait 8hrs, 34min… secs, what is the point to this, making the crafting experience boring you are, fun… NO!. Just let us craft without restrictions to build times and let us have fun working on the crafting experience.

To some extent, when you sell it on the TP, people are buying it to get around the time gate which makes the seller have more of a profit than if there was no time gate.

This is so that people with lots of money can’t have a full set of Ascended armor, with a decent selection of Ascended weapons in 20 minutes. Then have nothing further to work towards, and get bored after playing a couple of hours with all “best in slot” stuff. This is the same reason that Legendaries are such a pain to make. If you can get the absolute best stuff in the game in a few minutes, you probably aren’t going to play for long. Of course the fact that you can buy Legendaries kinda flies in the face of all this. But Anet is not always consistent, IMO. Some of the things that they do don’t make sense to me.

And like I said, some of the things they do don’t make sense to me. But they will probably not change the time gate significantly, if at all.

You can grind enough of the matts to make enough vision crystals for a full set in under a week. But grinding isn’t time gating which is what OP is taking about. The bloodstone shards etc do slow down some people a little bit if they don’t already have a ton saved up from playing, but not nearly as much as time gate for bolt of damask etc. you can do the math if you want but my guess is to make a full as des set and with weapons it takes at least 6 weeks.

Material timegate.* They cannot get around the fact they need laurels and crafting disciplines at 500.

edit: as little as 35 days for an ascended set for a class like eles and engis (based on the old laurel a day method).
