Was it nerfed or not? I can’t seem to find a legit answer to the question So if anyone knows I’d appreciate it before I spend gold, thank you.

Nerfed from what? Launch? Yes, as the ability to level Crafting to 500 changed the experience gained per Crafting Level. Since the advent of 500 Level Crafting? No, there has been no change, save the XP bug that was introduced with the patch and subsequently fixed shortly after.
