Crashes are Ruining the Game
Hi, if you are on a 64 bit version of Windows please try out the new 64 bit client, for me it reduced the game crashes to about 0. Just go to: ‘My Account’ > ‘Game Content’ to download it.
I know it can be frustrating not being able to rejoin the action after a disconnect or a game crash, I wrote up a post about it suggesting some improvements that would make it a less frustrating thing. All I got was some people agreeing with me and some that said that anet will never do anything to make that experience less painful and frustrating. It’s good that you put it out here again.
I completely agree on you 2 minute retention solution btw, it’s kind of what I suggested in my post too ^^

Agree about logging back in, twice over the weekend I was in world events with masses of people (Teq. once and the Harathi Highlands end event) crashed right as the boss went down and lost the reward chests.
Been on the 64 bit for 2 days now..zero crashes. Runs so much better. Why isn’t the game gated to 64bit?
yep, 64 bit, no more crashes. I don’t even bother dropping my graphic settings for world bosses/events now. For people stuck on in 32bit or Windows XP, my heart goes out to you. Probably time to upgrade.
Realistic minimum requirements seem to be 64 bit Windows Vista or newer with atleast 8 gigs of ram, as GW2 64 bit client is using about 5.3 gb of ram in the most demanding situations. If you can’t meet those requirements, you’re gonna have a bad time.
I am on the 64-bit client and STILL crashing 2 out of 3 times in the Dragon Stand meta event. It is super frustrating. Is it mainly a graphics problem? (aka, if I lower my graphics settings, I won’t crash anymore?)

It can help yes, although I’d advise not to alter them mid meta. I have done that and insta crashed a few times.
