So I just got Tequatl’s Hoard, and I see its weapon stats are Condition Damage, Toughness and Precision. At first I wasn’t too happy to see these stats but now I want to take the challenge of building something out of this, for the love of theorycrafting. I wanna make a build with these stats on gear.

Thing is, I have no idea which class could benefit the most from these stats. I know there’s a rune somewhere that increases Condition Damage based on Toughness, so that could maybe be a start for the gear. Perhaps a necromancer? Or a warrior? Maybe something that can trigger good conditions or boons with criticals? And what weapon would I use?

Any ideas on this? It doesn’t have to be the greatest, most efficient build of all time, it just has to be a build that can do its job in PvE and have enjoyable, fun mechanics.

Traditional necro build, condimaster. Tough+Prec+Condi dmg stats, runes of Undead (the ones u mentioned converting Tough into cnd dmg). Scepter+dagger/staff, Consume Conditions, Blood is power, Epidemic, 1 skill of choice (signet for movement speed as option), elite – Plague

How would you make use of all the precision? Are there any traits that trigger abilities on critical hits, or perhaps some sigils with interesting effects on criticals for this?

try www.metabattle.com for an indepth view of all gear and traits of a condi necro
Then see how your Tequatls hoard fits into that.
Good luck

Casters:

(PU) condi mesmer staff & scepter/torch
Terrormancer/Condimancer staff & scapter/dagger

Travellers:
Trapper Ranger SB & A/T or A/D (sw?)
Stealth condi thief SB & P/D
Condition Engineer (P/?) elixer/grenades

Heavy
Condition Warrior: S/S & LB

All are WvW roaming/PvP builds or dervatives.

Cheap condition runes: undead/sunless/krait/and many more, most condition builds cost 10-12 gold to gear, compared to 50 for dps builds… (named armor can be very usefull)

These builds will be usable in WvW roaming!, PvE map, not dungeos or bosses!
They are viable though in SW! red keep and husk assassination

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

Ah, that sounds very interesting. Gonna work on that with the sigils and traits then. Definitely going Necro for this.

@Pax the runes I’m looking for don’t necessarily need to be cheap, but undead seem to be a good choice indeed.

Condinecro is nice for wvw-pvp, in open world pve condi dmg hits like a truck when stucked, but it isnt good build for dung/fractals.

I guess in theory it would work on a condition mesmer.

Condition damage boosts conditions
Precision causes more crits, and under the dueling line, when illusions crit, they cause bleeding
and toughness makes the illusions and the mesmer somewhat more survivable

Toughness would benefit a melee weapon/class more than it would a ranged weapon/class. With that in mind, I would think Warrior Sword would be a good choice since the majority of its damage comes from close range bleeds.

However, you may want to save it for HoT instead if you plan on playing a Revenant since that class seems to be about tanking and dishing out conditions from what I hear. (Also, the black/shadowy appearance of the weapon would go great with the Revenant class.)

Faye Oren – Mesmer
Lee Oren – Ranger
Eve Oren – Revenant

I’ll doubt that. Necro has same base HP as warr, but basicly better cnd clean (and Vit as stat works passively as defense against condi dmg like Tough works against direct “Power” dmg). But as Necro u have two more tricks: Death Shroud and Plague (that rockets up Vit and Tough). So it will work very nice for class and not worse then for warrior. If we talk about wvw/pvp.
