Guild Wars 2

So, I have just come back to guild wars 2, and havent played for a long time. Found out some of my friends are playing, so i decided to make a character on their realm and play with them, but I cannot move to another realm and create a character on that realm?

I will not pay for any transfers… as i dont have a character i would like to move, and i just want to get a level 1 guy on Gate of Madness.

Am i just suppose to Guest on that realm forever? or can i just make a new toon on a new realm.

You can not make just a character on another server. You can only transfer all by either pay or delete all character and transfer free.

You may not participate in World vs. World when guesting.

Also, thats not gonna fly…

You can only create characters on your Home World.

You can play with any other players, sans WvW, by merely choosing ‘Join in XXX’ from the party menu. MegaServers allow all players to play together (again, sans WvW) in the same region (NA or EU).

Arena net is not charity. It is business. Also if people could transfer free all over it would make big problem for WvW with spy and troll.

This might not be an ideal solution, but perhaps you might make a free account just to play with them? There are a bunch of limitations, including not being able to enter WvW right away, but you might look into it.

It does not matter what Homeworld you have. You can just play everything with everyone in the same continental region (EU/US/CHINA).

There are no “Servers” anymore, these home worlds only define in which team you will be when playing the big World vs. World battle ground.

This is much better now than any other old school actual pve server system, as all characters can play with every other now. If you and your friends happen to be sorted to different map instances when entering an open world map, just right-click the portrait of one of yur friend in your party list and choose the “join in…” option, done.

If you want to play on a different WvW server or EU instead of NA (and vice versa) you could look into this rather than deleting all your chars or paying to transfer. You can’t go in to WvW until level 60 and there are a bunch of restrictions. However your main account could buy or craft good gear and mail it to your other account.

There is a second possibility. Go to a video store and buy a pre-expansion game. I’ve seen them for $20-25 on Amazon.com. This has the benefits of no restrictions.

Obvious solution: Pay for the server transfer like EVERY other player. That’s the best solution for everyone!
Well, second best solution: Buy a second account.
