Crit Damage and Stat Inefficiency
One question:
Why do you think the value 1% Crit damage equals to the value of 1 point of any other stat?

I don’t think you understood what he was talking about. =p
He’s saying you can get more stat value by getting crit dmg on your gems instead of your gear because it doesn’t translate down the same as other stats.
Best example is to look in the Heart of the Mists, grab a Bezerker Amulet and compare the stats to the gem. Amulet gives 15% Crit Dmg and gem Gives 5% that’s 25% stat value for the gem versus the amulet, where as the other stats 125 versus 798 is more like 1/6 or so.
Welcome to exactly 2 months ago.
I’m kidding. Mostly. Having it repeated for the many who don’t know this is always a good thing.
The only real thing I wanted to clarify from your post is the following;
Weapons. 1 hand and 2 hand weapons have different stats. 2 handers only get 9% vs a pair of 1 handers with 10%.
For a full list of gear, in order of best berseker to worst berserker piece;
5:1 Jewel
7:1 Gem
12:1 Glove/Boot/Shoulders
12.8:1 Amulet/Onehand weapons
13.3:1 Accessories(earring)
14.2:1 Twohand weapons
14.4:1 Chest
16:1 Pants/Helm/Ring
The stat difference isn’t exactly minor either. If done optimally vs done poorly, you can net yourself the equivalent of roughly +100 stats. (I guess you can call that minor, I don’t though)
Why? Gives needed gear…
Why do you need this gear? To do dungeons… duh.
Yeah, I figured it had been posted before but I couldn’t find it. Thanks for the full set of ratios, I just posted the ones that I calculated out for myself to illustrate the wide difference in efficiencies.
Also, for some reason I had thought the jewels and gems had the same ratios, but after looking again I guess I overlooked that. Regardless, they’re both the most efficient by far for armor and accessories respectively.
And when I say that it’s minor, I mean the actual effects you see are minor when compared to the importance of the player’s skill. Plus, it’s min-maxing for content that is already easy to begin with (in my opinion). Point is, I’m not gonna make it a priority to re-gear myself since I can already blow through the content.

So what kind of gear should you be getting to maximize stats, as a warrior? Valkyrie? Knights? (curious)
Well, depends on what you want to do. If you want to be pretty balanced, knights armor (because warriors already have high base health, so mitigation is better IMO) and accessories with ruby jewels would accomplish that best. Then if you want to be more offensive, just add the more efficient berserker pieces first. So gloves/boot/shoulders, amulet, and so on. If you want to be more defensive, I would use soldier runes instead of rubies because it gives added defensiveness + utility

Not sure why I can’t edit my previous post… but I wanted to add that Valkyrie also has crit damage and I believe it maintains the same ratios as the berserker crit damage efficiencies, so if you MUST have Valkyrie stats, use gems and jewels for it.
