let’s share times when something just, hilariously bad occurred. anything. RNG ruining our day, an especially cruel glitch, an epic moment that went 180. w/e.

I.E.

I once salvaged 9 lvl 80 rares with Mystic kits, and only got 2 ecto.

during a fractal on my ele i once Staff Fire 4’d myself right off the scaffolding on Colossus (made for an epic firey rainbow, and alot of laughs from the others)

helping an underlevel friend map complete with my thief, and we had to sneak passed this big champion in Orr, and i just casually walked passed it like “it’s no problem, he can’t see through Stealth. go in, grab ur thing, run”. it than immediately turned and oneshot me, still fully stealthed.

I’ve fought Tequatl over 600 times in the past year, averaging twice a night on multiple characters, in a sick Captain Ahab/Moby kitten style obsession. All for his hoard.

another fractal story, believe it was a 38.
i was having a minor disagreement with a Pug guardian about who was the better cleric, Ele or Guard. and than the moment of truth came, Thaumanova Fractal.

the challange: Race across the fire room, no Cooling Rods. another party member handled the countdown.
it was neck n neck for about 60%, than the guard went down facefirst. i made it like 98% of the way there, and then went down myself. but ahah!, i have ele down 2 Vapor Form. and with confidence beaming i allowed my downsate hp drop to 25% just so i could laugh at my victory in party chat. and then… Vapor Form glitched. no magic mists, no mobility, no invincibility. just a cooldown ticker, and imminent death. and i didnt hear the end of it for the rest of the fractal.

I finally finished collecting a full set of 250 spoon. My precious… spoons!

I’d like to imagine Siegerazer at the local CVS buyin up all the plastic spoons. He walks up to the counter. Clerk gives him a strange look.

I could have rebuilt LA with spoons from this one event alone…

No one is forking you to do it….

Salvaged a fractal shield skin before the wardrobe. I didnt get the message that asks if I’m sure I want to salvage a exotic….

Some people would complain of the forking…

You think that is a critical failure?

In GW2, that’s just bad luck.

Try playing Archeage and upgrade an weapon worth the eqvivalent of a legendary, only to have it downgrade to a rare instead.

For some reason the first one that comes to mind is a time when I was relatively new, had just saved up enough materials to do a lot of crafting and get my level up and accidentally turned all my soft wood planks into dowels so I didn’t have any wood left to actually craft items with! (I can’t remember now why I didn’t cancel it, I think I was paying more attention to chat than what I was doing.)

I’ve fallen or jumped off cliffs more times than I could possibly count and ended up dead in some really weird places as a result (see screenshot below for example).

I’m constantly killing myself from something on my thief.

I got Spark on my second overall attempt at MF farming, I think that used up literally all of my available luck at once.

I have a couple. My first time through the PS, on my first main, a Thief. A number of guildies came to help with the step that happens in Lyssa’s temple (Ossuary, I think). None of us had done it, there weren’t guides yet. We fought our way along epically. We got up to the area where you go inside and down a ramp, but first there are mobs up on the platform at the edge of the giant ring of the temple.

I rolled for initiative right off the edge, fell to my death 1/2 way down the cliff. As it was my instance, and no one could get to me, everyone had to jump and die so we could restart. I was soooo embarrassed ….

On another note, much later we were assembling for a guild bounty hunt. Our guildmaster said anyone wanting in his group should /w him. So I hit some random keys in a hurry, and sent him “JURT” — which he promptly relayed to the whole guild, who proceeded to rag on me for that nonsense word nonstop. Now they can make me fall into a giggle fit any time by just saying that to me.

I opened the Karka chest that was mailed to me by ArenaNet on a low level character. This was the chest that had an extremely high chance of getting a precursor back in 2012. I ended up getting one low level exotic and a bunch of blues and greens. Everyone else got nice exotics and precursors.
