Warrior healing isn’t fine at all. They go down way too easy and this was the only thing really keeping them up.

Until I get the same protection in some way, I’m probably going to make a new thread about Critical food, or bump it every 15 days.

Honestly, the food got over-nerfed. Admit it.

As many have said before, stop going full Berserker’s and build some Knight’s or Soldier’s. Warriors have the highest innate survivability of every class in GW2. Highest base HP, and highest base armor (heavy armor), and a myriad of condition removes (especially if Soldier runes are used).

I fail to see a problem here?

Toughness doesn’t help against poison/bleeding/confusion.

I’ve never ran full zerker’s before. I’m usually at 3k Armor.

Toughness/Armor is nothing compared to protection. Protection protects for more then armor does.

Warrior healing skills heal about 1/3 of his hp while other classes heal for almost full.

That’s why you get condition removal? Warriors have an enormous amounts of those you know.

Protection isn’t usable all the time. That’s why you need toughness/vitality in your gear as well. Why don’t you do it?

Warrior traits offer no condition removal. Only very few skills.

Warriors have some of the worst dodges in the game, almost on-par with necromancers. Also, how can a dodge save you exactly from things like trap rangers and confusion, confusion even hurts warrior’s when they roll because its an attack.

Thing about protection is that it is a straight up 1/3 damage reduction. Had it been a toughness or armor boost like might is to power, it would have a diminishing effect as your inherent armor got higher. This because to halve incoming damage you need to double armor. 1000 to 2000, 2000 to 4000 and so on.

Basicly, toughness sucks. Protection is better in almost every way.

Technically most classes with protection have way more armor then the warrior, almost double! :> The difference between light/heavy classes is only 200 toughness.

Consider this:

Necromancers have several traits that steal health. Yet unless you piled on all of them and got multiple mobs to stand a stack of wells for the full duration you could not get better performance than simply popping a omnom and banzai the same mobs. This even tho it would only proc on 2/3 of the crits.

Elementalist with all his tricks and burst heals can get about 900 hps. (without omnom pies!)

Guardian with his virtues/regens/symbols can almost get up to 650ish-1000 hps, with regeneration even more. (without omnom pies!)

Necromancers get 150 health every time there minions hit something and everytime they hit something, and there minion steals 976 health every 2 seconds. That is almost 750 HPS, the same amount of health my warrior got with omnomberry pies. (without them!)

Warriors have NO condition removal compared to these classes. Yet they have only 200 hps compared to them, that is almost 4-5x less healing abilities. They have the worst of both worlds.

Protection CAN last forever for necro/guardian/ele if you play them correctly.

Protection is a boon. You’re comparing apples to oranges. Protection buff doesn’t last forever either, so even if it’s “better” it doesn’t act as a replacement for toughness/vitality.

Guardians have multiple ways to apply protection, in duration up to and including 10 seconds.

Similarly, a minor arcana trait for elementalists grants 5 seconds each time they attune to earth.

One solid AOE and the necro minions are gone, and the cooldown for their summoning only starts when they are killed. Also it does not heal the minions, and they do not regenerate between fights (golem excepted).

Elementalists have both the lowest inherent health and the lowest inherent armor of the game, and they need to build for said heal output and maintain a constant attunement swapping rotation.

Guardians similarly have a low inherent health, and again need to build into it.

Warrior could go zerk-ing with the omnoms and maintain the same output.

Before the change, I could go dual axes, full DPS. Full into mobs and keep my health up constantly with no issues while also putting out more DPS than any other class in the game. It was just silly.

Now it’s still a good choice, but other foods get a look in, and I actually have to either sacrifice DPS, or rely on my group to keep me up. This feels right.

Its a terrible choice, and that was pretty bad. However it was overnerfed.

As you can see, I didn’t ask for it to go back to the way it was with the exploited attacks, however I wanted it to work before with regular attacks.

It feels wrong, you should not rely on your group for everything. Warrior is the worst PvP class in the entire game because it has no sustain, your just a baby holding peoples hand.

Go roll an Elementalist, and try running full zerker and not dieing 1 shot to EVERYTHING. I would like to see a Full Zerk ele keep boons up and have 900 hps. The point being it cant be done. Crit food nerf affected Everyone, not just your class. It has been balanced.

You are talking non sense. A warrior can get high health regen as well, the thing is, you have to trait for it. Not power, crit, crit dmg %. Try the vitality / healing lines.

Warrior is worst PvP char in game? Ok, on my level 80 warrior in yellow gear as power crit crit dmg, I can hit 5 ppl for 18 – 20k in 1 hit with rifle. Your playing wrong if you think warrior is worst in pvp.

If you mean WvW. I know quite a few warriors in WvW that would argue with that. Warriors can be awesome if set up correctly. Giving good healing to both themselves and the zerg or decent buffing. While still doing great damage. If you are wanting to launch yourself into the enemy Zerg and survive your just asking to much. No class can do that. But Warriors definitely have enough survivability to hit the out runners, put down 2 or 3 people and get out before dying.

If you mean sPVP, you can’t use food so it doesn’t matter.

I didn’t say 80% of people that played were on Warrior, I said at last 80% of people in this thread felt warriors were fine. The only released info I’ve seen from ANet still says Warriors are one of the most played classes, and this matches what I see in game. Even if your figure was right 12% which I doubt, 12% is the mean. 100% ÷ 8, so even then Warriors wouldn’t be the least played class. You also see a lot of posts moaning about the holy trinity Warrior/Guard/Mesmer, and though I don’t agree with them, the number of threads suggest the majority of people don’t think Warriors are bad.

As we are talking about Buff-Food I think we can forget about SPVP for a while.
In PVE and WvW Warrior is absolutly fine.
I don’t know how you tend to play your Warrior. During WvW Iam running with full Bersi Equip 25 Points in the Toughness Trait Line and Melandru Runes. For Bufffood I use the -40% Condition Duration.

I deal incredible amounts of damage, while having a high survivability at the same time. I actually can charge into a Zerg, pop Endure Pain. Slash out about 20K Damage on three target and get out of there with GS3, shield 5 and Bull Charge to get further away. I only have 20K HP, so Iam able to heal me up to almost 100%…

Try to do that with a Ranger…

@ Topic: The Food-Nerve is fine. Since it got nerved for everyone there cannot be a balancing issue

“Warrior is by far the worst class in the game.”
You Sir, have to play more classes. Please feel free competing with warriors in PVE or WvW while playing a Ranger without using a Bunker-Regen-Build (as we want to be effective in WvW and not only roaming…)

lol. Troll post for sure.

I don’t know how anybody could come to the conclusion that warriors are the “worst class in the game” given that a) they have the highest DPS of any class proportional to survivability and b) one of the most widely played classes.

We don’t see people asking to buff warriors. We see people asking to buff engineers/rangers/necros though. Warriors aren’t even dependent on lifesteal food unless you play berserker everything outfitted with ruby orbs with no defensive traits.

Oh, and hammer warriors wreck in WvW. Easily one of the best classes.

My warrior can hit for 9999 damage as long as my opponents stand there and take it and don’t use buffs like protection/dodge.

High DPS isn’t all its cut out to be if you can never hit with it.

In pvp it doesn’t work. Real pvp is about bursting people down and avioding damage all together. I don’t think healing food would change that. Possibly faster endurance regen, better shild blocking and a fix to endure pain. Maybe more ways to remove conditions, without using shouts would be a better fix for pvp.

See that is whats wrong with this world, its all about hitting those immunity buttons and screwing people with burst damage.

Its no longer about timing skills to get the most of them, planning attacks, or abusing fun traits/items/mechanics and making yourself look better. Its just who can dodge/burst down there enemy faster! Isn’t it fun! (NO… why do you think everyone complains about PVP!?)

Everyone is the SAME now.

yes, please fix them! and yet, I disagree with the OP
their effect is perfect, their cooldown is fine, etc. it’s the puppy tooltip – it’s very misleading and frequently wrong. you should not have to research out of game for how a sigil of blood works. it should tell you if there is a 5s cooldown, or how much damage it deals, etc. these are easy things to fix, yet they have been in the game since launch.

and please standardize it! “(This effect cannot trigger more than once every 5 seconds.)” is identical to “(Cooldown: 5 Seconds)” I prefer the ‘cooldown’ phrasing.

I think the main problem for the OP is that he learned to play his warrior using the crit food. Now that it’s nerfed, he doesn’t know how to play that class the same. He’s expecting to spin around mid-zerg and survive. Also, he keeps jumping around with his argument. What exactly is the warrior’s problem? No condition removal? No 100% protection up-time? No life stealing? No sustained damage? No burst? He keeps bouncing back n’ forth so much, I’m not sure what hsi justification is for why warriors aren’t good. I’m an engineer…I wish my rifle did what warrior’s do sometimes.

Warriors are doing fine. Learn your class.
