Crystal Savant outfit: fabric is too shiny
I’m surprised; I’ve had the opposite problem. The main fabric field dulls and greys any dye applied. Though now that you mention it, even down in the Skritt Pits of SW the male version still looks brightly sunlit and the light source is always from the right no matter what angle I spin the camera.
It does make me gleam in the darkness but I can see why the light source feels unnatural.
I think it’s that lighting effect, which does always seem to shine from the right no matter what the lighting of the environment. That shine on the fabric dulls the colors, makes them harder to see.
It’s not just always from the right even with a light source from the left — it’s always from the right even if you pan around to face the camera the other way. The light source moves with the pan.
That’s what recent Tyrian clothing development gives you. Oiled clothed armour. Linseed oil on your gear is all the rage lately.

I have the same problem with this outfit as well…
The problem, I believe, is due to the “shader” settings in the graphic options. Normally if set to high, objects/characters reflect more light. When set to low, everything has a more natural appearance. I always set my shaders to low to avoid everything showing up on my screen as if it were coated in a thick layer of polish. However, the newer outfits seem to ignore these shader settings…
Over a month ago, I made a similar thread in the bugs forum about the excessive shininess on outfits but it has yet to receive a response or be dealt with.
I’m not sure how many other people are having this problem, and I doubt this is intentional since the older outfits don’t have that annoying polished look. For me, it makes the outfits very unappealing and I won’t buy them anymore until this is fixed.
The white light shining on your character from the right of your screen is indeed caused by having shaders set to high. I think it’s always been that way and is evidently an artistic decision that someone, somewhere thinks looks good.
I like the metallic chrome effect as well as the TRON lines.
