I know that “culling” will be addressed for WvW but will it also be addressed in PVE?
Yesterday I was catching up to a group of guildies for some fun. They said they were waiting at a particular spot for me. As I approached there was no sign of them. Nor could they see me. Nearly a minute went past before they “materialized” out of thin air around me.

So, will culling be reduced in PVE?

Not in this patch, but a fix is in the works.

As you can probably imagine, the rendering demands for a huge group of people fighting another huge group of people are different from those for a huge group of people fighting a giant dragon.

I’m having trouble sometimes aganist foes in some events (Harathi Hinterlands) Where the Centaurs becoume invisible and I don’t know where they are. I died dometimes becouse this (I was thinking there was no/low centaurs when were a lot).

I find it pretty funny in events (harathi is a good example) where you have to wait a few minutes after an event is over for all the enemies to do their ‘death’ animation as the models appear in game so you can loot them.

I didn’t see mention of pve culling being treated separately to WvW culling? Was that a dev reply somewhere?

They replied somewhere that they don’t have a solution yet for PvE culling. Really don’t know where the post was but it is 100% separate from WvW culling. This new patch that will get rid of WvW culling will do nothing for PvE

As for PvE culling…Players culling in PvE isn’t as big of a deal as it is in WvW because well, you aren’t fighting players in PvE. It’s the culling of the enemies that makes absolutely no sense. Enemies should never be disappearing on PvE. There are not enough of them to warrant them disappearing and we should NEVER have to struggle to see what we are fighting.

A big group of players failed the grenth temple cleansing event (you know the easy event after you kill Grenth) because no one could see the enemies that popped up and killed Jonez.

I was hoping they would be able to fix PVE culling soon, but from what I read from Devs I don’t think it will happen until later in the year. Unfortunately my guild will be moving on to something else and giving GW2 time to fix the issues. The culling issue in PVE seems to just get worse for all of us. We can’t see enemies or each other most of the time. I feel like I am walking around in an empty world. I can see no one and every town is a ghost town.

If there is a small chance anyone saw me and was dying 10 feet from me and wondered why I didn’t help them… I am deeply sorry I was not able to see you to help you out. I was not ignoring you. :<

We really love gw2 but it is getting very frustrating not knowing what is killing you and not being able to see the enemies. I will check back to see if anything has been done about the culling but at this point we aren’t able to do very much in game other then chat and hang out.

I really enjoyed this game before the problems started, and had so much fun. I am not sorry I played it, and I hope this issue gets resolved as soon as possible. All the stealth creatures sharing secrets with the other mobs of the world is making for a very dangerous place. XD

Enemies should never be disappearing on PvE.

That never happened to me actually. Are you eventually mixing up culling with an asset loading delay?

One of the devs (99% sure it was Colin) stated that tomorrow’s patch will not effect PVE culling. Culling for PvE is a lot more different, namely because of the wider variety of mobs in the world. Of course, they plan to address it in the future. When? Don’t know.
