Cultural Armor - Unlocking
If before the wardrobe was implemented you :
-deleted the piece
-used a T-stone and kept the skin or stats, then another T-stone and kept the stats or skin (basically, removing every bit of the cultural armor existence)
you have lost the skin and need to buy it again.
kitten that is not good and a lot of wasted gold.
I always saved my armor with cultural skin and made a new one if i wanted to use
another skin, because before the wardrobe you also had to rebuy them in that case.
So in the end you wasted the money already before the wardrobe.
However i also wasted money because i bought some pieces 2-3 times ^^
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
tbh some of the cultural skins are/were pretty naff and I bought them for the AP more than the looks. It was a step to the title not because I wanted the skins at the time. So I will just have to use some other skin because ?I am sure as hell not buying them all over again.
I lost basically the cost of every T2 cultural set for each race. I ended up upgrading them eventually and didn’t keep the skin. Now I have to buy them all over again
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Cannot find a previous topic to see if this has been asked. I wanted to upgrade my asuran to cultural but could not see listed in my wardrobe. Knowing that I have the achieve The Emperor’s New Wardrobe I have obviously previously bought all the cultural armor. and expected it all to be unlocked.
So why then are the cultural armor skins still locked?
Am I expected to spend another ton of gold to unlock them?
You may not, in fact, have bought all the armor. You only needed 18 unique pieces of each culture to get emperor. Each culture actually has 54 pieces of armor. So, for instance, you only needed to get 1 t3 glove – it didn’t matter whether it was heavy, medium or light. So, if you bought 6 pieces of t3 light asuran armor, for instance, you could have gotten the title without unlocking any heavy armor at all.

wait…..you upgraded over all of them so they were lost then…by YOU. At that point they were gone…..FOREVER. Now that Anet allows you to actually USE the skins multiple times, it’s Anets fault they were “lost”? Really?
Sure, I’d love to have every skin I ever transmitted over since release, but I’m not about to blame Anet for MY decisions before the wardrobe system went into place.

I hear you but with the cost of Cultural Armor, especially T3, being as expensive as they are and the fact that they can easily identify those that have the Emperors New Wardrobe Achieve surely it would be reasonably easy to unlock those skins?

Ah just re-read this and that makes sense of course there is light, medium and heavy and yes you are right we only needed one set at each level.
Given that cultural armor is limited by race, I am of the opinion it should unlock similar to the way dragon horns and the gas mask do. That is, it unlocks all armor types for that skin/rank.
Unfortunately, this is a) a different discussion and b) will spark huge complaints from people who have 3 different weights on a single race.
But still, would be a nice QoL change.
AND THEN it would be reasonable to unlock all based on The Emperor.
Yeah, unfortunately the Emperor title only tracks 18 unique armor pieces, with 6 from each tier, for each race. It has no way of knowing WHICH armor pieces you actually bought. It really sucks, but if you destroyed your Cultural armor prior to the Wardrobe, there’s no way for the game to tell which armor pieces you had.
Actually, the achievement definitely has a way of knowing which armor pieces you bought because it wouldn’t be able to tell if you’re buying unique armor pieces otherwise; the problem is it likely stops tracking a cultural tier once it completes an achievement tier, so even if they retroactively unlock skins based on the title, they’ll only be able to unlock the first 90 purchased.

If you need 18/54 skins to get the achievement, then no. I’d expect that when you buy a piece of cultural armour, the counter for the achievement just increases by 1 until it gets unlocked. I doubt it actually keeps a record of the exact items you bought.
The achievement says “unique” pieces of armor. So, I imagine they would have to keep track of it somehow.
