Cultural armor exotics & stat choices
This is an OLD complaint, and one that I had myself. If it helps, think of T3 Cultural armor as basically prestige armor “skins”. You buy them for the look; they are not really meant to be used as workable armor.
That said, given how easy it is to come by Exotic gear these days, I do agree that there wouldn’t be any real harm done by upgrading T3 Cultural armor to Exotic tier.
Either that or just change it to be skins. I alway used those for skins anyway – like 99% of the community I assume.

Yeah, I’d like to see the cultural armor either become skins or be changed to exotic pieces. Or, if not exotics, let us pick the stats for them. But, as was already said, this is something people have been asking for since launch, really. I don’t see it changing.
One of these days someone needs to make a massive thread of old complaints Anet has never got around to fixing.
When the game was launched Anet thought that exotic armors would be hard to get and would take a while for people to have a full set, so since the cultural armor can be acquired with “just” gold it couldn’t be exotic so they made it as rare armor. I don’t need to say that it didn’t end as they planed and people got full exotic really fast, that is also the reason ascended gear was created.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The problem with that idea though was at launch the 112gish it takes for a set of T3 was probably the equivalent of 1k right now, so even then it was much much easier to get exotics.

Yes, it was easier to get an exotic, but before launch Anet thought it wouldn’t be.
What they planned was very different from reality, that is why it feels so weird now.
