This most recent current events update that came with the balance patch was….
AMAZING. I don’t know how the team did this, but it was amazing. I was smiling for every second of it. The team picked up a story that was left behind and brought it into the light again in an epic quest. Short, but so fulfilling. There was even cheeky jokes on top of it! What did everyone else think?

I would rate this current event 10/10: unexpected and fulfilling in terms of story and game assets

Yeah this took me by complete shock. I was like “Oh cool, they did a thing.” And it just kept getting bigger and better.

I really love (almost) everything about the current event from this patch. I was so very excited (and surprised) to see how far it went. Seriously great, Anet. The only thing I didn’t care for was having to shell out 2.5g to replace an item I tossed out over a year ago . . . Five times, too.

True, but at least they made a cheeky joke out of it and its certainly not breaking the bank. It is something I’d rather not have though.

Anet’s story department did a great job with this little patch. They actually listened to what players wanted and included it in the game, starting from Trahearn memorial, and now the Pale tree awaykening.
Really a great job, I thank you sincerely. Thank you and, please, keep it up that way!

Overdue but very welcome and quite satisfying, new title and all. Good skins, too, though right now it still feels a bit weird to think of Caladbolg as anything but a greatsword. :p Definitely cheers and thanks to the event team.

It was pretty much the perfect current event. THIS is the benchmark for all CE going forward.

- mail to start it off (see it works when you do it!!)
- a nice story, tying off a loose end without bogging down the main story
- concise, well told point with appropriate lore
- a decent amount of achievement points (please LS team this is how you do it!)
- a fun and trackable quest
- some well tuned fights. Not too hard, but just enough challenge for those of us less skilled.
- excellent rewards, with an option to swap! (I’d personally have dropped the ascended GS for maybe staff or something to avoid the doubling up though).

Considering how dire the whole story of that weird rift thing was, which is still incomplete and had no real indication of what on Earth was going on, this was a breath of fresh air. Kudos to the team!
