Interrrresting. Anyway.

Yesterday I decided to make yet another new character. An asura warrior. So I did. And promptly deleted him and recreated him. Played him up to level 4 or so. Filled several hearts there in the starting area, took in some vistas, did some events, including one that was bugged the last time I had a character there, and one I’d never done before. Also found some diving goggles I’d never seen. Cool. Generally speaking, I was having mass quantities of fun with my new asura warrior.

But.

I wasn’t happy with this new character’s name, so this morning I deleted him and recreated him with a new name and a slightly altered look.

Well.

Before he was level 3, doing the same things his predecessor had done last night, he’d been defeated twice. He had to run from foes several times. At one point he had a hylek, an inquisitor, and a jungle worm all chasing him. Run, little asura warrior, run! Plus he kept hitting the less exciting DEs: the Tiny Progeny (wait… wait… wait… is it bugged? where are they? wait… oh there’s one) and collect the Rider eyes (great googly moogly how many do you want). All in the same area he’d excelled in last night. Instead of mass quantities of fun, it was mass quantities of <bleeeeeeeeeep!>

Ahem.

The only difference (gear-wise): last night when he completed the first mission, he took the shield, and later had a longbow drop. This morning he took the warhorn, and I picked up a rifle from a weapon vendor.

And so: a question. Did the choice of offhand weapons (and rifle vs longbow later) really make that much difference – or is my newly recreated asura warrior (thunder crashes/lightning flashes) cursed?

well I have believed for the longest time that my poor Mesmer that I made in bwe 3 and played exclusively for 5 months is cursed.
I believe my Ranger is blessed though- she gets all the dyes, all the cool loot, stays alive forever… the first time I saw encumbered on her I didn’t know what it was lol

I can say that my Necro in the swamp fractal ALWAYS gets mossman and my Mesmer ALWAYS gets Bloomhunger. The prediction has yet to fail me. My poor thief has the most rotten luck of all. Draws dredge fractal every time. I don’t take him to fractals anymore… I still think it’s a funny coincidence though.

There’s only one explanation for this. While you were playing good on the previous character and suddenly badly next morning on a different one, it simply means you woke up from your dream and reality hit you.
