My friend and I recently completed Cursed Shores map completion.

He got a good reward and I got something you would expect from a lower level area.

Here’s what he got – 1 Black Lion Key, 2 lvl 78 exotics and a few unidentified dyes in which he got a Celestial dye.

Here’s what I got – 9 Transmutation Stones (Yellow), 15 Mithril Ore, 40 Gosssamer Scraps and a Chrysocola Crystal.

What. This really doesn’t encourage me to complete the other maps.

I’m curious if anyone else has ever gotten a bad reward from a level 78-80 area map completion.

That’s weird, what level is your character? I’ve always received 2 exotics from Frostgorge, Mt. Maelstrom and the 3 Orr maps.

afaik, 2 exotic + gemstore item + 2 type crafting mats is guaranteed on completing L60/65 onward maps

My character is level 80. I completed Frostgorge Sound a while back, and that gave me an appropriate reward. This time I have no idea why I was given seemingly a low level reward.

Hmm. Unfortunately I didn’t get any exotics, just low level items.

No, dyes are not part of Map Completion rewards.

That I could transmute <80 armour?

why use transmutation stones:
level 79 exotic armor is basically just as good as level 80. the only scenario where it isn’t is in PvP, and you are max 80 by default there so it doesn’t apply. 1 level of armor difference in faceroll PvE content makes no difference.

no one thinks this, so the prices on lvl 79 gear is VASTLY cheaper than the same gear piece 1 level higher.

I just finished my second 100% completion and both times got 2x exotics. Pretty sure you are supposed to get exotic gear for completion.

wear lvl 79 armor? seriously?

I have a bunch of reasons to call that a silly arguement for considering this stone reward gratefull.

I find the reward to be utterly useless. Even silk scraps have more value then these kittening stones..

File a support ticket, but only if you are feeling like doing something nice for future players, because Anet will do nothing for you regarding this beyond send you a message saying “whoops, file a bug report”, to which they will reply “thank you for filing a bug report”.

I hold on to all the transmutation stones (Nearly 100 now) in the hopes that eventually there’ll be a recipe to change them in the transmutation crystals.

Or that a transmutation stone will eventually be the required item to use an item from the PvE skins locker that has been asked for repeatedly. (Hopefully even for level 80.)

I did once get a packet of dyes as a map completion reward. It is probably on the same loot table as the 40 crafting items, the exotics, a black lion key, transformation stones, boosters, etc. Vadik’s reward does look as if it is too poor to be from the correct loot table.
