Cursed Shores is back.
Shhhh , don’t tell anyone. They might give us porous bones as champion drops.
yes, it is back, in the worst way possible. It is certainly nice to get rewards for once, but that is just madness. That is Plinx/Shelt/Pen on steroids, infused with super soldier serum and hit with a good amount of gamma rays. And the bile in map chat. When anyone breaks the zerg´s precious farming chain or – how dare they – want to not fail Gates chain because of the Ember champions, guess what. Reporting for verbal abuse becomes the new mini-game. I enjoy my farming as much as the next guy, but this is game breaking insanity just now which has to go.
In b4 nerf.
Ya’ll ought to know the deal by now. If you mention farming spots, they get nerfed.
Is there any solid group farming champs and stuff? (eu)
If it is, which server should i join?
???? ya ever wonder if anet did it on purpose? Everyone always complains about how there is no farming and they fix it. Yet people always scream ‘nerf’..
sighs
OP, why mention this? All Anet is going to do is look at the thread and whack Cursed Shore with the nerf bat again.

It will get hit with the nerf bat sooner or later.
I don’t know why they would nerf it though. As long as people aren’t interfering in event completions then its most probably all intended.
I’m keen to get down there and have a go of those champs. I haven’t been there in months.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

It’s ANET, nerfing the heck out of CS is their raison d’etre.
People NEVER LEARN!
Expect nerfs shortly…even now a forum mod having read this is running to the nerf team…
Anet are undisputed no. 1 when it comes to nerfing…

Hehe, it seems like it sometimes. Colour me as an optimist though but I reckon they might have learnt some sort of lesson and maybe even pre-nerfed it before the update so it’ll be good for a long while. Time will tell I suppose.

It doesn’t matter what you do in game. Arenanet nerfs anything that anyone farms.
Anything.
Champion purses were giving rares in a good ratio.
Now it is just one more trash bag, like treasure chests.
They have a sad habit of nerfing everything. Inclunding farm spots.
They are getting to be known as Nerfanet for a reason.
Negative Nancy’s all around.. I understand… BUT
What I saw down there is a collection of various bits from the previous incarnations of Orr, like a “Best of” or “Greatest Hits” build. This doesn’t feel like an accident, but a zone carefully crafted to be be consistent with their vision of a level 80 zone, and the schizophrenic hot and cold feedback supplied by the player base.
I would be more than a little surprised to find it wasn’t by design… and to go and nerf something like this after spending the past 10 months getting it just right would make no sense, to me.
The Pavilion is a mindless grind, whereas this is a real event.
I don’t get it. Why does everyone want to farm stuff. I constantly hear the there is grinding in GW2, but it’s really self-made. You don’t have to grind stuff. The goals you are working towards are long term goals. People get stuff like Lodestones by luck. People who don’t need those sell them on the trading post. Now you can buy those there. There is no need to farm this when money is a lot easier to come by.
so Anet get’s rid of the grinding part and then the farming-crowd whines. sigh.
Because the modern human being is so high on endorphins, that any drop in the trickle of stimulation is a instant depression.
You’ll regret it.

Yes, for the next 3 weeks will be a high farm at pavillion (What is good, events is just to variate a little more, and rewards better), but as soon this event finish, probably people will go back to Orr. The loot there is the best.

That’s just it — people want to interfere with event completions.
If you complete the arah chain (which isn’t always easy, since people want it to fail and thus not help you), being greeted with map chat nastiness is the absolute minimum. I ran into this for the first time last night, and that was the first time I’ve ever turned off map chat because of player abuse.
I don’t think anet needs to nerf cursed shores, because that’s just stupid and is playing whack-a-mole with the zerg. I do think anet needs to limit champ map chests to something like 4-5 per account per day.

You don’t think it needs a nerf and then go on to advocate a nerf.

You’re not paying attention.
Cursed shores — the area and the events — does not need a nerf.
Anet needs to nerf the core reason (not the area or events) that is causing the antisocial behaviour: the champ chests. By limiting the amount of chests that a player can get each day, you effectively kill the nasty farming zergs.
Note that I’m not against farming, zergs, or farming zergs. I actually like them all. :-) What I don’t like is the name-calling and other nastiness that occurs when people play the game the way it’s supposed to be played (e.g., finish the entire arah chain and successfully open arah). If people didn’t intentionally try to cause events to fail, I wouldn’t care about the massive zerg trains.
It’s because of the inevitable nerf that people are farming champs so hard, they know it won’t last forever so they’re doing what they can now.

Well, since the zones in GW2 are not instances like in the first game it’s very difficult to make a balance in regards to loot. If you make it that the mobs (champs, veterans, regular mobs) drop good loot, people will flock to them and make problems with zergs/farming trains (things die to quickly for example). And if the loot is not good, you can see no one touches champs for months. I am not sure why is Cursed Shore so popular. Orr has two other zones and I haven’t seen farming trains in those. Would be cool if people spread out some more…
