DPS list
This list has become very long an situational now….
Generally it isn’t a Build but a group whcih does dmg
Group 1:
2 compositions:
- 5 thieves can do alot of dmg, or we could take
- 5 Staff Ele’s as well they are extremely powerfull and versatile.
If you would compare the DPS output from 1 thief/ele from this first group to 1 thief/ele buffed by :
Group 2:
- PS EA Warrior (strength/discipline/tactics)
+ 1070 power (EA 150, banner 150, Might 750)
+ 920 Condi dmg, (banner 150, Might 750)
+170 ferocity,
+170 precision,
+170 healing and
+ 10 % boon duration) - Chrono booner (alacrity, timewarp)
Well pretty much – 25 % CD on all (non auto) skills if buffs can be maintained, Boon duration food will help a lot, and bountiful sharps (Meteor shower every 13-15 seconds?)
- Spotter Buff Druid (frost spirit, glyph of empowerment)
( +10 % dmg, (temp)
+ 10 % dmg, (temp)
+ 150 precision ) - AP Herald BoonBuffer
+ 50 % boon duration to ppl in range
+150 ferocity,
perma fury ( + 20 % crit chance)
- to support 1 Elementalist or Thief
This second group total buffs could (in total) accumulate to: - + 1070 power, +920 condition dmg
- + 320 ferocity
- + 320 precision and fury for + ~40% crit chance (well give or take a few%)
- + 60% boon duration alacrity could be up longer, as could timewarp,
- +170 healing
- +10% dmg, and again a10% dmg buff for a reasonable uptime.
The Thief or Ele receiving this would be buffed so much…
It would likely AND probably do DOUBLE the dmg a thief or ele from goup 1 could do….
Now back to the first group:
The 1st ELE could use his party to get fury and might, as could the 5 thieves, they could stack stealing buffs buth would have
- 25 might (750 power) ele’s or
- 15 might (450 power) thieves respectively and
- Fury ( + 20 % crit chance),
The Ele and Thief from the 1st group would lose out on so much.
Understand these builds function with thier normal potency and could good dmg…
This shows DPS is mostly depenndant on the groups ability to synergize, not on the PURE DPS. whcih is mostly a useless statistic in this game nowadays.
Still Warrior with 4 ele’s remains the biggest ownage vs any target IMHO…. at least visually even with firedarts instead of fireballs. swapping 1 of those ele’s fo a chrono would aadd a new visual element and a lot of outgoing dmg….
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

warrior + chrono + 3 eles
if DPS is all you care about and don’t care about survival, go for glass cannons.
otherwise, take the ones with plenty of DEV with stable yet lower DPS.
Skilled
1. Elementalist
2. Thief
3. Guardian*
4. Warrior*
5. Engineer
6. Revenant
7. Ranger
8. Necromancer
9. Mesmer
Unskilled
1. Revenant
2. Thief
3. Ranger
4. Mesmer
5. Warrior
6. Guardian
7. Necromancer
8. Elementalist
9. Engineer
That’s my list.
*Includes elite profession.
Elementalist and thief also use their elite professions, mesmer and ranger also use their elite profession because the buffs aren’t worth the minor personal dps loss.
Without alacrity which is a common problem in pug groups thief has dps on par with ele, and dh is barely behind.
Warrior is lower than engineer/necro for skilled players with group buffs.
Burnzerker should still outdo Engineer iirc.
Very Complicated and situational question. no simple answer but depends on the composition.
But assuming fully buffed with quickness and alacrity I would assume
Ele>=theif>DH>=reaper(situational)>engineer>=burnzerker>PS-warrior>condi ranger>=revenent>mesmer
when i read this topic i assumed we are talking about a single character with xyz profession dealing the most dps compared to other single characters with xyz profession.
meaning there are no 25 might stacks, perma quickness, alacrity,25 vulnerability coming from your buddies next to you..
And even with all that it is STILL very situational. Are we talking about the highest dps in 10 seconds? 30? 60 seconds? Are we talking about single target dps? 5 target dps? large target or small target dps?
Cause theoretically i still believe a ele can outdps anyone…theoretically we could make him pump his might stacks with weapon swaps ,fire fields and blast finishers BEFORE the fight, and he could rain down tons of aoes that hit 5 targets at once…making the dps go 5 times faster…
ooh yea..i also forgot about condition builds. do we start counting dps on them form start or from the time when they start to sustain their max condition?
