Will we ever get a dual spec in GW2, I play a warrior and like to go tank/support for PVE and dps for WvW. Im sure most people would agree this feature should have to be worked for. You can make it an item thats forge crafted, you can make it cost something, gold/Karma/ Gems but I think this game desperatly needs it.

They did say it’s not something they are currently working on pretty low on their priority list but it might be implemented in the future.

I do agree, and even take a bit further even gw1 had templates you could save and all of a sudden gw2 doesn’t have any, such a shame I truly expected this to be in at launch.

At level 80, I can reassign trait points for <4 silvers, and it can be done at anytime. I think the current system is ok. I originally favored the freely customizing skills of GW1, but due to the non-instanced nature of GW2, there is merit to some deterrent on how frequently you can change your build.

Of course, I am for playing the game your way, so if they made PvE skill trainers give free trait resets, I have no reason to object. However, if they give dual spec but increased the cost of trait reset for all players, I strongly object to that.

I think one thing people keep forgetting is, in GW1, it was pretty much the same.

In GW1, you could only change your build in outposts. Once you were out exploring or doing dungeons, you couldn’t switch your build out. You had to prepare and get the build you wanted before leaving the outpost and once you were out, you were stuck with it till you returned back to the outpost.

In GW2, it is pretty much the same. You can only change your build at a trainer (which is usually in a town/city). Once you are out in the world exploring or doing dungeons, you can’t change your build. So you have to prepare ahead of time and choose your build before you go out adventuring. Basically the same as it was in GW1.

The only real difference is you have to pay to do it in GW2. But you also had to pay for skills in GW1, and they are free in GW2. And GW1 had quick build templates to switch between, while GW2 requires you to manually change your build every time. Which isn’t too much of an issue if you just have some post-its laying around to keep track of your builds.

All in all, we pretty much have the same thing as GW1. I don’t see any reason to change it.

I think we should at least be able to purchase a second slot. I don’t think it would be unreasonable to have a PvE build and a WvW build, or a dungeon build and a DE build. Maybe make us buy the second slot for a reasonable amount (anywhere from 20s to 2g, imo) and then make you pay the ~3s each time you respec one of your slots. I get the need for the goldsink, but it is a bit jarring going from the freedom of GW1 to this.

I’ve found the Trickery line all but useless in WvW and indispensable in PvE, for example.

The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real.
