Dailies: Due to the new way dailies are done you are now limiting lower leveled (and new) players. You are basically forcing lower level characters to either finish their dailies in PvP or in WvW. For people who are serious about WvW, especially in the upper tiers, you have made it so now people who don’t care for WvW are taking a place of someone who cares about WvW, so they can go finish their dailies. Not to mention how potentially ineffective lower level characters are in WvW compared to someone at least level 31 or higher…. and now there are even more of them due to the new dailies system. In WvW your skills/traits are limited to whatever level you truly are. Forcing people to go to WvW or even PvP to complete their dailies isn’t the answer. Please reconsider and make dailies more compatible for lower level characters while remaining in PvE…. just doubling the number of things you can do in the PvE aspect would be a big help.

Bank voice overs: “I’m selling, you buying?” – “All prices non negotiable” – etc… are not things the banker should be saying…. using the voice overs from the vendors is just being lazy… seriously. I’ve had new people asking if the bank sells the stuff they put into it, so I had to reassure them they don’t and that it was just the same sayings from the vendors.

Way points: It use to be that we could see if a WP (Way Point) was contested in another zone (anywhere in Tyria). So when you pick a WP that is contested, you automatically get moved to an uncontested WP… the problem is, we have to pay to use the WP’s and if you decide to move us to a WP we wouldn’t have picked had we known the one we wanted was contested, then we have to pay to go to the WP we would have picked (or run a lot farther). So instead of deciding what WP for us, have a menu pop up asking us to pick another WP, so “we” can decide what WP we want to go to. This issue has made me (as I’m sure many others) waste a lot of silver having to go to the WP I would have picked had I known the one I originally picked was contested. Yes I know sometimes WP’s become contested when you’re in transit… so take me back to my original WP and let me select another one.

As far as dailies are concerned, the system gives you dailies based on the highest level character on your account. someone with an 80 on their account will not have the same dailies as someone just starting the game.

Very true, I brought a second account when they were on sale and I finish my new account dailies in about half the time as my main account takes. I don’t doubt if I tried to finish the dailies I get on my main account with a lowbie well I honestly don’t know if I even could to be honest

really find the new dailies making me not like this game so much. Before I could go where I needed to be and concentrate on game play rather than finding 10 mines in a region I have either done before or have no wish to go to again ( have 10 level 80s 3 with world completion). Before, I could play the time I wished to play with out spending extra time looking for a piece of rock for a few hours. Really guys if you have to change it make it fun. I don’t mind challenging but looking for mines/plants/ trees in one region isn’t fun specially if you have no other business there. I try and get most of it done in WvW but we are on a server that is competing against two huge armies that camp the camps and just basically over run us with large numbers, so thats not always possible. I find my self having to play an extra hour a night to get the daily done and by that time I’m cranky and irritable not fulfilled and wondering what wondrous things will happen next. Please come up with something else… this basically bites.

Very true. However, it still takes 3 dailies for completionist even if your account only gets 1 task per category. Assuming new players even hear about dailies (ain’t that hard) they would need to do the PvP and WvW ones for completionist. Vet players with new accounts would also need to complete the PvP/WvW ones until leveled high enough to get more choices. This is not a long-term problem for a single account unless one levels quite slowly, but it might be a problem for a high-tier WvW server if there is a regular influx of new players.

Dailies based on account in a WvW complaint thread? Really, you’re using THAT argument here! That only makes a remote amount of sense in PvE!

A level 2 character has three dailies, 1 in PvE that is ‘level’ based (assuming they don’t have a level 15), 1 in PvP (probably capture point or get rank points) and WvW (probably camp capture or ruin capture)…

The OPs complaints are completely founded and even as a PvEer I can understand that (especially since the dailies have been turning the game into uncomfortable time instead of relaxation time by funneling me to WvW or PvP).

The WP issues stem from the Megaserver, the map you’re looking at may not actually be the one you’re zoning to. Only way to fix this would be to put ALL events on regular timers that end only after all maps complete them.

I’ve never heard a banker talking about buying/selling, always boasting that they’re rich which is kittening annoying when thinking about socio-economic issues of the world. What’s more annoying is the kitten bloody NPCs (that do absolutely nothing other than make an already crowded bank feel used as an ‘emersion’ trick) that walk up to the bankers that overrule my ‘f’ button when trying to talk.

New account old account I have never needed to PvP to complete my dailies in 15 to 20 minutes, they just aren’t that hard.

So play for 2 hours till you’re level 20? lol

Seriously we’re talking about the first day someone plays a new account, maybe the second. If they’re new they shouldn’t even know about dailies yet.

Right and if that level 1 character doesn’t do the daily for 2 days they’ve temporarily lost exactly 20 achievement points. That’s it. It’s NOTHING.

Because if you play long enough you get it back at the end anyway when you max out. And if you don’t keep playing you don’t get them.

It’s not like the old days where they’re losing a laurel, or whatever. They’re losing a few achievement points, that will eventually come back if they play long enough.

Seriously what kind of complaint is that?

I read it. I comprehended it. I usually find your posts insightful but not this one.

We’re postulating a HUGE number of new accounts. We’re postulating a huge number of new accounts that feel they have to do the daily. We postulating a huge number of new accounts that are so stuck in doing the daily one a brand new account that everyone will jump into WvW and have some sort of cumulative affect.

Today it took me, as an experienced player, roughly 2 minutes to get my WvW daily but capping a ruin.

I was in WvW on a new account for roughly 2 minutes. I’m pretty sure those two minutes didn’t tip the vital balance in WvW.

Furthermore, if all servers get new people and the number of people doing this are relatively evenly distributed, then all sides would have the same negatives, more or less.

I don’t think there are enough new accounts often enough that need to do the daily on day one to worry about how it will affect WvW.

Because if you care about doing the daily it’s likely that you’ll have a 15 level character by day 2 and it won’t happen again.

It is very rare that you get a daily where you have to step in WvW versus EoTM. It can happen, but usually in those cases a new player, if they even know how to enter WvW, just needs to capture a Ruin.

In most cases they will be able to get 2/3 from PvE (some kind of gatherer, vista, events, etc), and then can go to EoTM for the rest (Sentry cap, Guard killer, Badge spender, tower cap, keep cap, etc.)

This really is a non-issue.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Sorry to resurrect but this is NOT a non-issue as someone stated. I am a returning player. I have an 80 which I do not play (the reason does not matter). So, I have a couple of lowbies. I don’t pvp or do wvw. Therefore I cannot complete the daily because a fractal has been one of the 3 pve options available everyday since my return. Anet is incorrect in this type of “encouragement” to do other aspects of the game. People play and do what they enjoy. The game has a lot going for it but penalizing players because they prefer pve over the pvp and wvw activities is not correct. If anything, pve should have 6 activities to balance what pvp and wvw players have to choose from. I expressed my frustration to my kid ( who is going to return to game) and he basically said “don’t do the daily.” He’s right. But that’s not good for keeping me on as a player.

To the point of the OP, why should he or others have to put up with folks like me who have no interest in the pvp side of this game and frankly not really that good at it. I don’t even know what capping a ruin is. Back in the day when I tried pvp I always joked with my friends that if you want to win pvp then put me on the opposing side. So how is this right for the game or other players?

Fractal every day? Perhaps, your client has a bug. Have you tried a -repair?

Master of Ruins and Big Spender are about as PvE as they come. With Big Spender, there is zero chance of meeting an enemy. Maybe 2% chance with Master of Ruins.

I used to be wary of WvW myself, but once I ventured there, I found there are many aspects that are just PvE in another map. Maybe, you could find someone to show you around. =)

Good luck.

Those two are by far the easiest dailies to get and I look forward to them, especially Big Spender because I’m slowly collecting all the skins and armours and whatnot from the WvW vendors and that daily lets me do two things in one go.

‘WvW Caravan Disruptor’ is also very PVE and easy to accomplish. ‘WvW Guard Killer’ is another fairly easy one that’s also PVE since you’re actually fighting NPCs. EOTM is even better than WvW for this, and in fact most of the WvW dailies (except Camp Capturer). Just hop on a k-train and before you know it, you’ve completed your dailies.

As Inculpaus Cedo said, once you venture in WvW you’ll find it’s very much like PVE and it can actually be more relaxing than PVE as there are fewer critters to bother you as you run around doing your own thing.

I wish they would combine the old and new systems. Right now dailies are an all-or-nothing proposition (plus they have been changed to be completely random). If I am feeling ‘meh’ about dailies that day I had better do all 3 … because if I only do 2 I get no AP or shards.

Good luck.
