I personally love the new format and new categories for the Daily Achievements. There is enough choice and flexibility that I never feel that I am being forced to grind out something I had zero interest in doing. I also love that in many cases I can get 3-4 out of 5 done just through normal time spent playing the game. I don’t feel like I am logging on and have to get the daily chores out of the way before I can start having fun.

I’ve played plenty of other games where I dreaded having to log on and run daily quests every day. After a months of the same exact quests over and over I could describe the most efficient path to take to get done the quickest, how many mobs will be killed, how many casts it will take and precisely how many more times I had to repeat it before I could say “Thank God. I am never doing that again, screw my alts”.

Well done.

I agree with the OP, the new dailies are awesome. I stopped playing back in December because I was bored with everything. I turned it on this weekend to see if things had improved and man, its awesome now. The ability to choose my daily activities is great. I played Friday night, and all day Saturday and Sunday. Four days worth of dailies and I never really even had to think about them, they all got completed while I was just doing my thing. Not only that, but there are plenty of people around for events (esp in low level areas), the chests are actually dropping good loot, and my server seems to finally be getting repopulated after a mass exodus earlier this year.

I also think the laurels are pretty cool, and the living story is a nice touch. Personally speaking, the game seems a lot more fun than it used to be.

I agree, dailies are just becoming better and better with every update.
The only ones who complain are grinders, who like doing the exact same thing over and over to no end.

Add me to the group that likes the dailies, even better now than before. Got 3/5 yesterday during one CoE run, and I got a BLSK! Looking forward to seeing my options later tonight!

I love them. I look forward to seeing what is on them for the day. I got a big giggle out of “kill ambient animals” since in another thread I began on “Things you will never see on a Daily”, my number 1 was: Freeze 5 bunnies. Close, very close.

I was especially happy about the conditions one, since I lost my super combo daily I loved—-but since I do combos with conditions it was a win for me!

Thanks Arenanet.

I like the dailies now too. I usually finish them just playing normally, while switching between characters – I actually like that it’s not a per-character thing, though I understand the annoyance at the rewards not working with lots of alts.

i do not do enough condition damage as an ele, so i never really know if i am doing it correctly or not when applying burning and bleeding using earth magic. so the condition daily was a nice surprise and a confidence boost.

i still end up trying to complete all 9. sometimes i end up finishing the 5 i didn’t track during my play session.

now if they can make it so that monthlies and dailies can be tracked, separately. currently i can only track i think 5 tiers at any time (some combination of dailies and monthlies). i would like to track dailies and monthlies at the same time, instead of tiers overriding each other.

Thank you for making this thread. The next time I see someone whining about how the dailies are more terrible, I shall redirect him to your post and the number of people who are enjoying the new system.

Don’t disturb me, I have a cat in me at the moment.

I love the dailies.

I hate that ascended awards are time gated behind them

Here’s what people thought of GW1 when it first came out: http://tinyurl.com/bntcvyc

These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”

Agreed – the new dailies format is a lot of fun. On weekdays I don’t have much time to play, and the dailies are just the right amount of time commitment to log on for 30 minutes or so and have fun, earn a reward, and logoff until the weekend comes and more game time is available.

I’ve had the exact same experience. I’ll tell you my favorite part of dailies in GW2 – not having to talk to someone to get the quest. Often the daily will reset in the middle of my evening play session, and I won’t even notice until I complete one part. I’ve even got most of my monthly done already without even trying. Last month’s with the 500 salvages seemed a bit over the top, this month’s is cake in comparison.
