The daily achievement reset time does not work for me. I understand that it is the internationally agreed upon time zero, but it is often in the middle of my game play (6 pm central time). It is very frustrating to miss getting my daily achievements by a minute because that last event will not spawn in time. This has happened on a few occasions. It makes me feel like I have wasted my time, there is no sense of achievement and it actually makes me want to stop playing the game.

I have to limit my gameplay because of work and personal commitments so when I do get time to play I want to enjoy it and not be frustrated by it. I don’t have an issue with having to work and take time to achieve things, but to miss the achievement because of a time zone issue is frustrating.

I wonder is it possible to have the North American and European servers reset at different times. This would certainly help my frustration level and increase my enjoyment of the game. Midnight PST would work for me.

What do others think?

It doesn’t matter what the time is chaged to, you still wouldn’t be able to finish. It’s still 24 hours from reset to reset, so moving the time to midnight isn’t going to magically give you more time to play.

I’d rather regret something I’d done than regret doing nothing.

Reset time is fine. The dailies take 45 minutes TOPS. If you are playing after the reset, do your daily before you log. If they mean that much to you, I’m sure you can find the time to do them after the reset.

I am at central time and I make completing my daily the 1st thing I do. Considering it resets almost right after I get home from work, I make it a point to complete it immediatly on reset so I’m not in a rush the next day. Nearly any zone can complete it (less likely in Orr zones), but I prefer any of the 1-15 zones since there are more kill varietys there. If you have trouble with events, post in Map Chat and you might get some people mentioning an event near a waypoint you can take.

As for what I think of the timer reset, I don’t have an issue with it currently.

instead of rushing to try and get them done before 6pm, why not try doing them after 6pm instead? that way the next day you don’t have to worry about them, theres no rush and you can play as normal until after 6 again. just a thought

My point is that this is a game, I should be able to play when I want too. I should not have to worry about schedules and deadlines, if I wanted to worry about schedules and deadlines I could go to work. I like to play sometime between 4pm and midnight depending upon my personal and work schedule. I know I could play ignoring the dailies but than I can not help but feel I have missed something. I also don’t like playing in low levels just to get my dailies. A reset time that was during normal sleeping hours or in the am would be much better.

I agree with the OP. 7-9 is my prime playing time. It resets at 8:00 PM Atlantic time. Right in the middle. I can rush a daily run but I’d rather pick them up as I’m just playing through. I missed one this week by 4 minutes. I was in the middle my 5th event when it reset.

Two nights later, I had all but 2 events from the prrevious night, but didn’t get to play until 8:15. Lost another daily.

It’s not the end of the world, but I kinda feel like I’m missing out just because of where I’m located. I have not played some nights just because I knew I was going to have a reset half way through it.

I know 00:00 Zulu is a logical time to switch, but GW1 used to switch at noon Pacific time (4 PM my time). It was just better for me.

I find it’s intrusive where it really doesn’t have to be an issue.

Just do the daily at the same time every day. There, solved.

Cheers.

Selfish.

A reset time during your sleeping hours would be a reset during someone else’s playtime. At least with 00:00 UTC its based on a standard and not a preference of one region over another. Besides, you can finish your Daily right after the reset. If it resets at 6pm for you, then do the Daily from 6pm-8pm your time. Why is that impossible for you?

Reset time is perfect as it is, since its based on a global standard and not regional preference. This is a global game, after all.

The thing is that it resets for everyone at the same time. So when its 6 pm for you, its 1 am for me. No matter how they would set it, it could mess with anyones schedule.

What are you going on about? Just find out when it resets for you, determine the time of day you want to do the daily and go. It resets at 4pm for me, so I do it in the evening.

I dont have any issues with it. I wouldnt have any issues with it even if it reset lets say at 10pm for me (I get home from work at 9pm). I know when it resets at the moment, 1am currently at gmt +1. As long as you know when you can work around it. If you miss it, no big deal.

I totally agree with the OP on this one.

The argument that the chosen time should be “unbiased” by location seems silly to me. In fact, it would be desirable to have it be based on location so that it serves the needs of the majority of players.

Why can there not be two different reset times, one for American time zones and another for Europe, since the majority of the players on these servers are from these locations specifically? Of course players located outside these times zones would be inconvenienced, but again they are in the minority.

Finally, why not choose a time like 4am where the least amount of the majority of players will be inconvenienced? Consider this alternative as opposed to the status quo where we are subject to an arbitrary reset time based on a totally unrelated time zone specification of a global “time zero zone.”
