On Jan 13th, 2015 the cap will be increased to 15k ap for dailies.

My only concern is, I will hit 10k ap tomorrow.
For the following days 9th – 13th will i still receive the daily ap or will I lose out on 40ap?

What about those who reached 10k ap daily a few months back, do they get credited for those days lost after the cap or is it a loss?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think anything will be retroactive, nor is it a guarantee that Jan. 13th’s Release will be the Release that consolidates the Daily and Monthly cap. It may very well be the Release in question, but no specific date has been announced, that I am aware of.

Good luck.

According to the wiki:

“There is a cap of 10,000 for daily achievements. This cap will be raised to 15,000 after the 2015-01-13 patch with the merge of Daily and Monthly Achievement Points and caps. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out. Wiki is made by players though. Anyone have an official statement?

Over a year and the forum search is still broken = /

The Wiki is updated and maintained by players just like you and me. There is no footnote or link provided where the player that updated that page got their information.

As stated above, it may well be the 13th, but the official announcement states, ‘a Release early in 2015’…nothing specific.

Let’s assume it is the 13th, since it’s not an official statement by anet, the concern still applies. after my 10k cap, it’ll be 4 days (40ap) til the 13th. what happens to the 40ap?
or
let’s assume its 2 months from now, thats 600ap from now til then, what happens to that 600ap after my 10k ap cap tomorrow?
I know its hard to say what happens to it, that’s why I’m hoping someone here might know.

I would guess the same thing that happened to any player’s AP that hit the cap previously. It will be forfeited. It won’t be grandfathered in. It won’t be retro-active.

Just my guess.

Good luck.

You won’t get it. That’s what a cap is.

I hit the 10k cap months ago. Haven’t gotten any from any daily since.

well that would be unfortunate, i can only hope it is the 13th, then I’d only lose 40ap :P
but if not, nothing to cry about, I’ll eventually get to the 15k cap anyways, unless they increase it again :S

thanks for your input

But if anyone does know more information, feel free to let me know.

ouch, that really blows.

At least I know from you that until the 15k cap kicks in I won’t gain any additional ap,
thanks

It would mean, at worst, you’d have to spend an extra six days maxing your dailies. What’s the difference if you do it now, or at the end?

Not much of a difference for myself since I’m just reaching cap, but for those who had it for months, kinda got shafted a bit.

Seems like one could reach the cap faster now, rather than being ‘shafted’. But…who wants to reach the cap, anyway?

Hopefully, many more ways of earning APs will be implemented.

I don’t think so. This is all really long term goal stuff. If they’ve had it for months, they simply have to wait one single month (assuming the raise in the cap comes on the 13th). They’re losing one month. That is to say they will cap their 15,000 at 1 month past what they would have.

Considering how many years it takes, it’s hardly being shafted.

More to the point, there are other rewards for doing dailies now that they never would have gotten before, in addition to the achievement points. No one is shafted by creating an exotic for free and getting 3 ectos. lol

That’s a positive way of looking at it and you’re right, having loss ap for which you will eventually reach the cap in comparison to the new rewards, seems like a great deal.

Thanks again for all your input

How can you lose something that you do not have?

That said, ANET will probably ignore issues like this because it is not a bug. I suggest you do something during those 4 days that you had never done before.
