I’ve been doing things in and around Tyria for the last couple of days but for some reason my Daily Completion percentages remain at zero on all listings. Has this issue been noticed by anyone else or has something been changed or adjusted in regards to my own copy of the game to cause this. It may well be a bug, as despite putting in almost ten hours of play today, I have not earned a single daily reward.

Have you been doing things related to today’s dailies? For reference, today’s PvE dailies are:

- Ascalon Miner
- Ascalon Vista Viewer
- Sparkfly Fen Event Completer
-Inquest Golem Mark II

If you’ve been only running around, say, Shiverpeaks, you won’t be able to gain any of those. If you have been doing any of the above, and not receiving any rewards, there may be a bug.

Perhaps, if you were more specific about what you are doing, and which Daily Achievements are not reflecting your efforts, it would be easier to help. Also, which settings are you using to track your Achievements?

You could try a -repair of the client, post in the Bugs sub-forum, and/or contact the CS Team for assistance.

Top/Bottom of Page – Support – Search (Repair)/Submit a Request (Ticket to CS Team)

Good luck.

Thank you for responding and the advice. Actually, now that I’ve had time to review it (I seldom look at what I have to do, sorry – just accepting that mining, logging, plant collecting et al worked for me in the past) and do not do PvE, WvW etc.

Those things really do not appeal to me as a player, but I also eventually realized that I had to visit some region or other just to get those items – what’s going on here?

This detracts from my enjoyment of the game to be honest with you. I used to wander freely, as I wished, collecting as I wished and NOW it seems that I have to be ‘’ordered around’’ to do things just to get my daily? Surely this is forcing the player to do something against their will and in fact causing them unnecessary distress when despite no matter how hard they try, they simply cannot finish daily.

Makes the whole point of playing pretty pointless in my opinion. I was HAPPY with the way it was. I was CONTENT to do what I logged in to do and have done since 2012. Now, all of that said, is there any way that I can play Guild Wars 2 the way I want too? Y’know, give the player what they want and all that.

I’ve traveled far and wide in Tyria and have had an account since 2012. However, I have been away for four weeks due to serious health issues and when I get back something which I really used to look forward too simply isn’t the same anymore.

Am I now REQUIRED to go to Ascalon every day to mine and look at the same vistas over and over? This said, I’ve spent the morning in Ascalon (you guys can check that easily) and made some headway. So if I understand this right, if I choose to collect/fight in say Queensdale, Cursed Shore, Southsun Cove or the Silverwastes I can no longer get any daily completions? If so, this has just ruined my day. I used to look forward too doing things all over Tyria.

So one last question. What if a player does not want to do (or dislikes) PvE or WvW (I find WvW brutal to be honest with you)?

The Daily requirements change with each day. You can look up the past Dailies in the Wiki, should you so desire.

Rewards from Dailies were moved to the Log-In Rewards, so you no longer need to participate in finishing the 3 (three) required Dailies (out of the choice of 12), except for the 10 rewarded APs.

Again, you can read more about the new Dailies in the Wiki, or on the Releases page, or the Patch Notes. (Links found above.)

You can also leave feedback in the official ‘New Dailies Feedback’ thread found in this sub-forum.

Good luck.

Dailies are a bonus. You aren’t required to do any of it. And there are 3 versions of dailies. PvP, WvW and PvE. Surely that isn’t asking too much? Even then, they still give you options. Still, nothing you get from dailies is required for anything and you can skip them and not miss anything. You are making a monstrous deal out of them being generous. It looks really bad on you for not only looking a gift horse in the mouth but spitting on the owner while you are at it. Don’t like the dailies? Don’t do them. Problem solved.

In answer to your question – yes there is. It’s quite simple really – you log in and do what you want to do. You say you’ve been doing that since 2012 so nothing should really have changed.

I have to ask have you been absent for the game for a while? This change was introduced at the start of December last year.

Thank you again for the confirmation. And yes, I’ve been very ill recently – beginning late November 2014 with psychiatric issues (ex-military, PTSD) I’ve been unable to play GW2 so missed a lot of the notifications and when I was playing I was busy in the Silverwastes, where business as usual kept me very busy. It is merely my personal choice, but I prefer to spend my days helping out newbies (educating them, fighting with them to beat enemies to assist in leveling) and in collecting which I then sell as I am not a crafter – I am that unlisted ‘profession’ of CRAFTING MATERIAL COLLECTOR; and that in itself is an excellent way of making cash. Anyway, if this is not a bug then it’s something I’ll just have to live with and thank you folks at ArenaNET. I’m sure it improves the game and I’ll just have to learn to adapt.

I’m sorry about your illness. Keep in mind that the rewards you used to get for doing four dailies you now get just for logging in. Then you can pick 3 dailies from the 12 offered across PvE, WvW, and PvP if you want 10 AP for the day and some bonus chests (eg if you do the gathering daily the chest contains a selection of that type of material. I can gather 4 heads of lettuce in Beetletun and get some omnomberries in my chest). But even if you never do a daily you’ll get the laurels and the like.

Ah yes, the “I’m forced to do this” comment. You can choose to do the daily or not without it affecting your gameplay. If you want the 10 AP, there are things you need to do to get it. For example, last night’s daily took me 4 minutes (my fastest ever). Ascalon vista viewer (black citadel), Ascalon miner (black citadel home instance), Master of Ruins (WvW).

If you truly want the AP, then you must choose to do the content required. Otherwise continue playing normally and don’t worry about it. It won’t affect your dungeon runs, FOTM, WvW, PvP, RP, whatever content you like to play.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

If the Dailies detract from how you play the game, continue to ignore them and play as you want….nobody is stopping you.

A suggestion: Make another character that does nothing but the Dailies (Travels around Tyria collecting the rewards). If that doesn’t appeal to your play-style, I’m out of ideas….good luck to you.

Appreciate the replies. Well, in my defense (with apologies) the PTSD and a couple of other military related mental health issues mean I don’t always see the big picture. Only after I had a chance to think things through did I realize it was NOT essential. You take a lot for granted (I know, I do) and well, people such as myself, with my black and white approach to things is fine when you’re following orders but when it comes down to an environment in which dynamic events are taking place (and I’m on about the ‘paperwork’ not the actual VR world, I tend to miss things. This will not detract from my gameplay … and my sincere apologies for my earlier comments. I was quite upset at the time and well, can only offer that as an excuse. I’m just USED to coming in, seeing the daily listing churn over item by item and that little reward window popping open … it was like a treat for doing the chores. And now, well, it’s done and replaced with something new. I’ll just have to adapt, dagnabbit.

playing 1 match of pvp gets you 2-3 dailies. reading what the pve dailies are gets you 0-2 in < 1 minute. playing 10 minutes of wvw gets you 1-4 dailies.

However, it seems that one no longer builds up any points without doing Dailies. What I have a problem with is the obvious weight of dailies to PvP and WvW. I only enjoy PvE, so, for example, playing today with my l. 35 ranger, it’s impossible for me to get three PvE dailies. shrug I just wish I understood why they changed it, why it’s balanced against PvE, and what was wrong with the old system that let you achieve dailies through natural play.
