Daily Shatterer Robbed of Loot
I got my rewards and salvaged all before getting booted. I ASSUME the mats didn’t disappear after I sent them off to my bank. It did take away my credit towards the daily. And with all of these crashes, it’s restoring me 5 miles away from where I was.

All my stuff is gone and talking with people in Map Chat, they lost a lot of salvage stuff too.
From my experience and everyone I have talked to, everything that you received in the moments before the DC is gone.

That sounds less like a DC and more like an instance crash.
Two of the latest patches were for “Fixed a server crash.” so that is not so odd. I haven’t ran into that since near launch. That crash resulted in a 30 minute roll back. :/
I just had the same thing happen to me after doing Tequatl, got all the chests, then got kicked and now I have nothing, not even the two gold. It’s not worth fighting any world boss’s until this gets fixed.
Same just happened to me and I got sent to Lions Arch when I logged back in.
Me too, with Maw. Only a couple rares went poof, but still. Until this is completely fixed, I suggest immediate logout at least to your character screen after any important event/find. That seems like it should save your data at that point in time.
Hmm, so glad I´m Urop.
While I sleep the busy ArrnahNet Elves fix most of their doodoos.
\o/
Yeah, these things happen. I logged in to Guild Wars 1 to open my birthday presents that I had accumulated. Got a unique green mini. Put it away and then the next time I logged it was gone but I had another birthday present, which had only a common mini. I can only assume the game crashed after I logged and my account was rolled back a few minutes.
/sigh
ANet may give it to you.

Think they did. It just happened to me at Megadestroyer. I has salvaged everything in my inventory just before I crashed. When I got back, everything was in one piece again, I was back where I was before the chest spawned, and I did not have the rare lvl 77 hammer from the daily world boss reward.
Same thing happened to me. I had the daily and the rewards/loot and then DCed and i and a lot of other people appeared in Fields of Ruin (???) and we still had the daily to be done and no loot, i had 3 rares.
That’s why i’m not wasting my time with those world bosses anymore aside from Teq because that is 2g free and you gain more loot.
Bugged crap, ugh.
Been a lot of this, from what people were saying in chat.
I had characters from two accounts in the same map doing Shatterer just now. It completed, both looted. I left with one to the PVP lobby; before I could move the other, it was DC’d. The one that left got the achievement and loot; the other got rolled back and nothing. Right now. I’d say get out of the map as soon as you can once you’re done.
(When I brought the second character on line, I’d originally gone into a copy of Blazeridge where the event was running behind the one in the first map copy. I’d swapped the character into the map where the pre was more advanced. So on spec I took the DC’d character back into Blazeridge again, and my luck held – the pre was still running. Got credit on the second try without having to wait 3 hours. Very much a lottery, but worth a try if it happens to you and there’s a long pre on the boss.)

I thought it was just me! Just as I finished the shatterer and was looking over my loot … BAM! … back in LA, bye-bye loot, still the daily to go, goodnight moon.
I decided I just wanted my daily completed rather than do the shatterer today so I went event hunting in DT. More disconnects that threw me to LA but I finally got 4 done there.
Random disconnects is one thing but this seems more widespread. How did it get through QA? Will we have to wait for the next tuesday update to get this fixed?
Just happened again exactly per OP
Also Level 80 Mesmer, Elementalist, Engineer, Thief & Warrior.
It’s funny, they censor me for some hamrless comment on another topic, but this they don’t give a kitten about it.
Great job Anet.
This same thing happened to me after a Tequatl event a couple of hours ago. Whereas I got fairly mundane loot (which got wiped out), I feel sorry for the guy on my map who landed an ascended chest only to see it vanish before his eyes.
On the bright side it was probably all useless stuff anyways
I don’t consider it a rollback than a lack of an auto save of player data quicker than once every 15 to 30 minutes.
RIP City of Heroes
Ditto. Did Shatterer to complete daily, which it did, with rewards., zoned to Wayfarer, cleared bags completely. The daily left the screen, as was done. Changed characters, played 2 mins, crashed. Recovered, played a while quit for the night. Now, about 20 hours later, come back in, no Shatterer, daily set to 66% and rollover in an hour, no chance for Shatterer.
What gives? Why a time rollback after a crash? Is their server lag so bad that it doesn’t have a log more current than 5 minutes behind? I know the lag has gotten worse in the last few days, as key skills don’t happen until 3 presses later.

Had this rollback bug happen to me as well. Opened a BL chest and got nothing good, suddenly dc’d, logged back in and had my key. I then opened my chest and got 2 claim ticket scraps
This just happened to me after killing Teq.. Lost all my loot all the Karma everything like I never did anything. If I am going to put the time in to fight the world bosses and then be penalized for spending said time, I will just stop doing that content. This is ridiculous.

Wow.
You’re acting like a rollback is a daily occurrence and not something that happens once every 2 years.
I lost Genesis (93g hammer) due to the rollbacks. Submitted a ticket to have it returned. ANET rep told me that they checked their records and the rollbacks were not their fault. As such, they refused to return my lost items. I tried to escalate the ticket. I plan on posting the whole conversation if not resolved.
If a server crash occurs and the transaction records don’t show, because of the crash, you getting it, there is little support can do.

I look forward to you trying to make someone just doing their job out to be the bad guy.

You realize that if the account is rolled back the record of getting that weapon was lost. They are not going to give it to you on your word alone. They need to be able to see it in their records.
I lost a unique green minipet because of a rollback in Guild Wars 1, the first I ever got from a birthday present that I can remember. That’s just the way it is sometimes.
ANet may give it to you.

When Jarvis says rollbacks he means due to server crashes and not a formal rollback.

If the server crash rolls it back, doesn’t it lose the information? That would be why he says that support doesn’t have a record of him having that weapon, if it rolled back and was reset to a time they have their last “snapshot” of his account.

Exactly. Which is what I said in my previous post. This thread is about “got sweet reward from boss event, oops server crash everyone got booted, came back and sweet reward is no where to be found, whaat!”. No different than you last two hours of work on your term paper got eaten because autosave wasn’t on when the power dipped and rebooted your computer.
People are calling it a rollback which to me implies a deliberate action on ANet’s part which it wasn’t.

Ummm. Ok. I was using the term used in the thread where they were calling the “reversal of account time due to a server crash” a rollback, to discuss with him the possibility that ANet won’t have the records due to the reversal of account time due to a server crash when you came in and told us that the rollback was due to a server crash and not a formal rollback, which we already knew.
So, what is the correct term then for a reversal of account time due to a server crash if it’s not a rollback so I can use it correctly.

This may or may not be true.
I worked on the backend of an MMO before, one many years older than GW2, and no where near as complex. Every player had a log each time then logged in. Within that log we could see certain actions (acquisition of items/gold, things sold, location, etc) as well as when and how they logged out (Timed out, disconnect, ect).
I would assume Anet’s logs are much more advanced than this, and might be able to see if an item was gained, then not listed in their account on the next log in. But without knowing what their logs look like, you can’t say they can or can’t see it.
The “memory” wasn’t completely wiped though.
The game chat log before the crash remained intact.
I noticed this with what Matazeruz said- I was sitting next to him when he opened both chests, and asked him to take a screenshot of the chat log after the crash (of what he gained before the crash and before his BL key got “reset”)
Unfortunately he didn’t take a screenshot of after he reopened the chest though (he was too excited about receiving two ticket scraps ._.)

You would think they would have records but I was basing my guess that, in this case at least they don’t, because OP said that they looked and were unable to see any record that he had that hammer before the server crash and then told him that server crashes were not their fault. From that I concluded the rollback probably to the last snapshot lost the records.

I got hit with this bug/roll back last night and I have an idea of a potential/possible cause….
I completed the Shadow Behemoth event last night (20th) after server reset and when it completed I got two little chest in the lower right hand corner instead of the normal 1. I opened them both opened my inventory and crashed. When I got back into the game on that toon, I was no longer in the swamp where I DC’d but in Lions Arch, in a place that I had not been in a very long time and all the items/loot that I had gotten from the SB event was gone.
I realized then that the SB event was one of the daily events from the “day” before and that one of the chest that I had gotten was the SB daily chest on a day that it was not supposed to award it.
Maybe there is some sort of bug that awards these daily chests (or some specific item/loot) on days that they are not supposed to and the game catches that mistake a few seconds later and DC’s the player in order to remove what I thinks are ill gotten loot.
Now why the roll back placed me at the end of a jumping puzzle that this particular, or any of my toons for that matter, had completed in the last 30 days is still beyond me.
I was hit with this bug also last night sometime. My account was logged off and when I logged on, i needed to do the PvP daily again. The strange part was, I didn’t lose my PvP rewards, that I could tell. I still had the 2 pieces of dungeon armor in my wardrobe that I had unlocked and I hadn’t lost any points on the PvP bar.
ANet may give it to you.
So has this been fixed yet or are we still at risk of losing things after completing big events? Cause really what’s the point of logging in if I’m going to lose stuff now?

They had another update 14 hours ago which fixed “a client crash and multiple server crashes.” All the reports seem to be from before this, so it looks like it’s fixed.
