I watched this video:

And I just had to comment:

Okay, so, what if I can’t dodge easily, and can’t seem to learn about timing? (I’ve tried numerous times, and I can’t get dodging down, mainly when lots of people are on screen, causing FPS Lag.) Also, what ranged DPS classes should I go with for burst with low cools? I hate PVP by the way, and don’t really care for best-in-slot, or min/max builds since I’m not really hardcore enough for that.

If you can’t dodge there is several options. Whatever option you choose, don’t just stop trying to dodge, it will still help and it could become easier and easier over time for you.

1) Take some defensive stats. You will be less effetive, but it will still work. Plenty of hybrid build can work for you.
2) Take an easier profession. Elementalist for exemple is harder to play wihtout dodge. But heavy class profession will have more passive defense. Necromancer, Engineer and Ranger also have more passive defense.
3) You can use a range build to help you survive. Probably won’t be super good, but it will work.

^^ Thad summed it up well. PVT gear is an option. Defensive builds are an option. Pretty much you can go a lot of directions sacrificing damage for defense. The only thing I strait up would not sacrifice for damage is group supporting tools. Namely blinds/reflects for your group and maybe some condi cleansing too.

Ranger has a neat Greatsword, it has a block on there which is cool though timing a block isn’t really any easier than a dodge. BUT, the big thing is that your 3rd auto evades for you… you have a chance to simply evade an attack by accident without even trying! it’s cool Aside from that you have your longbow. You can bring quite a few different utilities including Signet of Stone for invulnerability.

Necromancer is also not bad with DS being able to absorb a lot of damage, when you’re under stressful fire you can always use that and auto attack within it till the threat is over then drop out and build lifeforce back up.

You also could go warrior, check out Wooden Potatoes tank video, he takes a nomad warrior and just laughs at stuff… of course you do almost 0 damage so it’s basically just leaching off the work everyone else is doing and that’s not fun or cool. But there’s that and then being a part of every speed run, so it scales between the two sides and in every sense you have a lot of passive defense to act as a safety net for failing to actively defend yourself.
