A little birdie told me I can get Dark Matter from salvaging Ectos. The Wiki does not state this. Anyone know if this is true?

You get Dark Matter by salvaging Exotics of any level. I don’t think ectos have a chance to salvage into Dark Matter

Salvaging ectos gives essence of luck, no dark matter.

Alright, now there are multiple answers. Has anyone ever gotten dark matter from ectos? If so the wiki needs an update.

ive crafted 4 ascended weapons, you get Darkmatter from EXOTICS not ectos

I salvaged 7 exotics yesterday, zero DM (Master’s Kit). Not exactly a robust drop rate.

They are correct, I was wrong. Deleted my comment. It is infact exotics of any kind. Ectos yield better chances of higher essences of luck.

Yes, The minimum level exotic is 62 I believe, and Dark Matter has a chance from all.

And yes I was mistaken on the ecto salvage. Tried to delete but a mod rejected lol

I’ve had better luck salvaging exotic weapons over exotic armor. In fact, all 20 I’ve got so far came from weapons, while I’m 0/10ish on armor. Small sample size, I know.

Even with that small sample size, it’s still valid as all/nothing type of viewpoint.

My DM came from an account-bound backpiece from fotm chest.

My sample size is 1 salvage. So no, I have not noticed a trend of any kind =)

I don’t really get a lot of dark matter by salvaging armor and weapons, I got 3 from salvaging 4 using BLSK, but I salvaged 4 exotic trinkets and got 8, using BLSK.

You would get more dark matter salvaging precursors than from salvaging extos…
