Day people come back(not complain thread)
I don’t think thousands of players have quit because they were unable to get a Legendary in a week.
I think more people would come back when they finally decide to make GvG.
Or an expansion….
Thousands of people will return the day Anet acknowledges the loot tables are absolute garbage and fix it so that time and effort is rewarded correctly for things other than greens blues and worthless materials.

The truth is strong in this one.

Like Likin Park said: In the End, it doesn’t even matteeeeeerr
Anet already got the money from them, since there isn’t a subscription fee they don’t have to please every single kittened up mind that is out there who needs something to work towards, because they have nothing like this in their real lifes.
So, Anet and NCsoft already got your money kittenez, and like it was said, it is more than enough to continue the Living Story which is great and I love it!

That’s nice that they got our money. What more important is that they KEEP getting our money. I can tell you this, though, I am definitely not going to recommend anything NCSoft to my friends after all the crap I’ve put up with and seen and unless they come up with some good deals, I am not buying anything else from them. I don’t want my friends spending money without knowing the disappointment they will be encountering.
Both companies don’t know it yet, but NCsoft and ArenaNet are the downhill slopes of lost customer loyalty and negative word-of-mouth advertising.
Sorry, This is not supposed to be a thread to complain on what we don’t have. The thing I meant to ask ArenaNet was:
Might we be getting this scavenger hunt any time soon?

Wow, but you know this. All they have is income reports detailing what people are spending money on. All they have is customer support records that tell what people are contacting the company directly about. All they have is facebook and twitter accounts that track real-time as well as forums. Shame they don’t know what direction the game is heading.
They will come back, craft their legendary, play for a week and quit again. Why? because there’s no content to use your legendary (or any other skin anet is spamming with every update) in. What are you gonna do, boring dungeons everyone left? There’s nothing to do with a legendary or not.
Well, YOU wouldn’t recommend buying stuff from the cash shop while I would recommend to don’t buy certain RNG Items. I support Anet, I’m no fanboy, I won’t believe a rat dressed up as a pig to be one, but they are already going in the right direction with the latest patches.
In this time you can’t complain about capitalism, as it is set in stone that people are greedy and need material things to feel good, like money. And those people crawl together in a big hive and founded companies to get money out of everything that has value in this world. And so it came that they discovered that the video game industry is lucrative and so NCSoft, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Activision and their overall leader EA were born.
What I try to say with this is: You can’t find much of a alternative and you will never. While I think any developer has the artists who care about their games, you can’t get around the publisher, and to support the developer, you have to pay the publisher.

It’s OK if you choose not to spend money. I buy enough Gems to cover the both of us (and then some) on a monthly basis. If they come out with more chests, I’ll keep buying. When the bottom line is looked at, they’ll continue to see a success.
Ah that feel of opening a chest, not knowing if you’ll ever get that rare item you always wanted! It’s so addicting!

This could happen. Although they’d have to remove the “everyone gets a loot” thing and we’d have to KS to get the loot.

Paperwork does only so much. Word-of-mouth can be the poison or the divine elixir of any company. Unless a company acknowledges that this poison/elixir exists while addressing it at face-value, the company will end up tripping itself for the worse.
Bad products breed bad reviews. Bad reviews turn off potential customers, one of those things that keeps a company alive and well.

Fine, where are the bad reviews? Are they in a place that more than 5 people read? Are they done by someone who is just p.o.’d that the game was not what they dreamed of? Are they reasonable problems the company will change, or are they things that require a complete wipe of the current game? Are there any reviews that are positive and if so again are they in front of a wide audience or preaching to the choir?

or atleast some real new content for WvW. (titles aren’t content…)
People might come back if the added some PERMANENT content, i didn’t play in months, this time limited stuff is crap it’s like they’re saying “play when WE want you to play or kitten off”

Exactly! expansions is the best way to bring players back, the vast majority do not come back for patch content updates, look at the history of expansion releases and the influx of players that is associated with it.
The thing with small content updates, such as the living story is that you have a very very small window to entice returning players, and if you fail at that then that’s it, those players are very unlikely to return again, expansions give a much deeper exposure and in my view produce a much fruitful return in the long run.
Whilst I like their honesty with the expansion ordeal, I still think I’d prefer not to have heard it, I’m one of the players who are on the fence with the Living Story concept and I still believe it doesn’t really work, and their PR about comparing it to a “expansions worth of content” is…. well let’s just it’s not really convincing, cause by that definition one may have considered each of WoW’s major patch updates to be a new expansion and then some.
I really wish there was a rule that said whenever you said “People left/are angry because of this / want this / etc” you’d have to offer up evidence of your post wouldn’t be accepted.
It’s such a cheap attempt at panic inducing that it really detracts from the arguments at hand. “OH NO, JOHN, SEEMS THAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE LEAVING OUR GAME BECAUSE OF THIS! WE MUST DO IT NOW!!”. Come on…

I’ll let you figure that out on your own time seeing as how you are too busy enjoying the shiny carrots they dangle in front of you to do any research.

And then, of course, they will find they are half a year (or more) behind as far as the top gear acquisition is concerned.

Thus why you are the type of player that NCSoft/Anet is focusing on with all the RNG and chest. Addictions make them money.

If they cared about it, they wouldn’t have left in the first place.

Good thing the game can be played quite easily on a character outfitted with 3g of rares… and as someone already said if having the best everything is absolutely necessary for them they wouldn’t have left in the first place for fear of falling behind.

Heh, some of them left exactly because they cared about it. And some, of course, left when it was still believed that ascended gear will be fixed to not be a grind and timegating.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
if that was true, then they´d do the scavenger hunt, craft the thing and leave again, nothing gained there.
there are lot of problems actually….
But the main is they are ignoring the playerbase mostly.
All the most discussed issues don t have a real answer by dev:
Precursors
PvE balance
Dungeons
WWW balance
people just is quite tired after months.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
