Q:

Hey. I have a quick question because i can not find the answer. As everyone (in NA) should be aware that time has gone ahead an hour. so will the servers at some point go ahead an hour as well? (and yes it does matter to me with my daily RL schedule).

that’s it. will the servers.. since they are NA servers... adjust to the proper time?

thanks in advance

Reset happens at the same time worldwide. At midnight UTC. What you will experience is that reset seems to happen one hour later. So, if you were in Pacific Time Zone, reset now happens at 5pm (PDT), rather than 4pm, as it was before during PST.

Daily reset and Daily login are 1 hour later, so would be everything else

They are only one hour later if you are in a time zone that bumped your clock ahead. Otherwise they remain at the same time as before for you. Though your friends in zones that did the reset may complain it’s too late at night to start a dungeon or RP when before they were fine, because to them the clock has changed.

Donari thats exactly it. My dungeon tour is now an hour later. they now would finish at average 9:30… 10 PM… a whole hour later. this creates a huge problem for me with how i set up my daily life to have to game time, and personal time.

Well, this fall the clocks go back an hour again? Hang on until then, I guess

My problem is opposite to yours, I’m a night owl and need my morning sleep. This week is a sleep dep hell for me every year. Or was until I resigned my job last summer and now I get all the sleeps! ALL of them.

I forgot about TEQ…. meaning add a half hour to an hour on that depends on until we get organized…. 10:30 to 11 PM to finish my daily tour on extremely late days compared to an before at 9:00 to 9:30….. honestly idk why the NA servers can’t follow NA time….. this angers me

I’m confused by what you mean when you say ‘follow NA time’. Would you rather reset was at midnight Pacific time? Eastern time? Hawaii time (whatever that is called)? We have several times zones in NA. In fact, the EU region only serves Europe and a few other countries? The rest of the world, such as Africa, falls into the NA region, and thus the NA servers. Should reset be set so prime-time falls in the evenings for Africa?

A single world-wide time had to be chosen. 00:00 UTC seems as good a time as any.

How can reset follow changes in local time when some places have DST and some places do not?

Reset is set on one unchanging time. UTC. It’s not the game’s fault that the government where you live tells you to put your clock forward one hour.

man you two answer the question in such a rude way. to put it a time more sensible to the area. they are labeled north american servers. so by all means should it not also follow the customs of NA? in others words time change as well.

Arizona and Hawaii are in the NA and doesn’t have DST. In the past there were states that had opted out but are now have it. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_in_the_United_States

South America is in NA but not all have DST.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_in_the_Americas

In addition, the different countries that do have DST start and stop on different days.

DST is not universal. UTC is a standard recognized around the world and doesn’t change depending on the time of year. An unchanging standard is better than one that changes twice a year, starts and stops on different calendar days and is not followed by everyone in the world.
