As first sorry for bad english.
I was very excited yesterday when I read new blogpost until I saw that screen with new rewards list. A big RNG anvil drop on my feet because its only way how you did it. RNG. RNG everywhere. I am man without luck I never make precursor in forge, my first ascended ring drop on fractals lvl 28 while others has 10+ rings, I never get thing from daily like Black Lion Salvage Kit (ok ok once), my Mystic Clovers ratio was 1:6 and I can continue. Another story are RNG effects on my lovely engineer skills.
Dear Colin for people like me is RNG most frustrating thing in game. Keep it in mind while you will develope features for future. You can do it better. More fair and more enjoying for all o us. I trust you!

Long story short RNG isnt fun (I hope you still focusing on fun). And lots of people will never truly enjoy your game until RNG will be here.

We don’t know if anything’s RNG yet!

I’m guessing that this is related to the armour boxes? Just as we can presume that these will be RNG, we can also presume that they’ll be full sets of gear tailored for specific professions. Maybe cosmetic items only available via this new rewards system? Who knows? We don’t!

Being cautious is fine, but expecting the worst is just going to make your time miserable. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. So don’t take part!

Or you could ask yourself the question why people expect the worst? From experience?

Also consider why they release information like this. Without giving clear details I mean. Perhaps they want to see people’s reactions and see what players might not like or do like.

The OP just gave his reaction. Anet will then see what they do with these reactions.

It is clear though that the economy of GW2 does revolve at least in part around RNG. It means that there are drops but because they are not always useable people’s behaviours change accordingly.

If you got a weapon that was a level 80 exotic of your choice. You don’t need to craft, grind or buy one. If it’s rng you still get loot, but most people will need alternatives.

I don’t particularly care for the GW2 approach on this because of other elements like the crafting system and FotM being the only place to grind etc.

Still, it does have an effect on the economy.

It’s a game forum. The truth is not to be found here.
