Any chance of getting the fire and electricity death animations put on weapons that aren’t Legendaries, but are visually appropriate for said animations?

I’ve got Mjölnir, which is kitten ed NEAR a Legendary considering how much 350 Charged Lodestones cost. I feel the effort put into acquiring it could justify some special animation.

Maybe burning death for Volcanus too, etc.

Why? Players have determined the value of Mjölnir knowing it was just a fancy skin without effects. Why should the high cost suddenly justify them having effects?

Entitled much? It doesn’t matter how much something “costs”.

“Would you kindly?”

If you kill an enemy with burning they will play a fiery death animation, if you kill them with lightning skills the same applies. I think the current system works fine, although it might be more immersive if a fiery weapon causes a fiery death.

The death animations aren’t tied to your weapon of choice but rather the type of attack you used to kill the mob.

Certain Legendaries trigger it too. Bolt for Electricity and The Predator for Fire, that I know of.

pretty sure killing enemies in light fields triggers the shock death animations. i remember getting a lot of them on guardian and wondering why it didn’t apply to other classes i played. you can get burning deaths on ele as well with some of the dagger/focus fire skills i think too.

and then obviously using bolt, incinerator or frostfang triggers the shock, burn or freeze deaths depending on which one you have equipped.

Currently the only non-Legendary weapon with a type that’s not physical is the FDS.

Personally, I agree with you. There should be more thought put into which type goes with which weapon, particularly since the skill you use can override it anyways. If the FDS is fire-type, why can’t Jormag’s Breath be ice?

They wouldnt be special, just a note.

Killing an enemy with a fire or lightning sigil proc, regardless of the weapon type or level, will trigger those anims.

The Fiery Dragon Sword gives a burning death animation. It is not a legendary weapon, nor is it fire damage. So, there you have it.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
