After reading this reddit thread about a player who accidentally killed their mini puppy, a friend and I decided to replicate it for the betterment of humanity.

Here’s the result.

Also, confirmed it works on other minis. Here’s a video with the Mini Spooky Ghost. Interestingly, the ghost has a lot more HP and a unique death animation/cry. My friend also had all of the Destiny’s Edge minis and was fooling around with them, but it didn’t occur to me to Fraps them until it was too late.

A few other notes:
-Minis cannot enter the blue Sanctuary bubble the NPCs cast.
-In one HotW exp path (the one with the boss that looks like a frozen Oakheart and puts down a bunch of ice fields), kiting a mini over the ice fields results in it getting chilled.

Ahh, reminds me of the days when you could kill minis in GW1 with Snowballs. RIP Mini Gwen.

Falunel and I were having fun experimenting the various mini deaths. Cruel fun it was burning my collected minis.

All minis can “die” this way (and instantly be re-spawned upon re-summoning them from inventory). Anyone interested simply go check it out yourself, Fire Shaman is commonly active on a server. Quite a few special minis like the spooky ghost have unique “death” animations. I won’t spoil the fun of discovery!

My hunch is this all relates to the possible future mini battles. At some point, minis will be able to fight against each other and be affected by conditions.

Seriously, I would LOVE it if Polymock became a new activity that uses minis as pieces.

Minis can die from AoE. People don’t know this?

Even in gw1 they could die from pbaoes.

Not sure about other minis but in the statue fractal my mini hippo bounces off the barrier shield on the final seal. It’s rather cute since it sequels and rolls over, plus if you are standing in the right spot he will keep doing it since he just gets back up and try to be by your side.
